I keep forgetting that gas prices are still crazy in other places. We're at about $2.80 here. Hasn't been above $4 here or if it was it wasn't for long.

Dropped a hundo in the tank tonight. Got 20.008 gallons. Tank was not empty prior to the robbery, and gauge reads roughly 7/8 now. You know, you can get a twelver of pretty decent beer for the price of a kerrs lite 30 pack. just sayin.......

Same. The weird thing I've noticed since COVID is that the price of gas fluctuates a lot more than it used to. I've noticed it can be .40 less from one part of town to another. Today Casey's is charging $2.72 while the Sonoco a few miles away is at $3.09.

Saw this the day I bought the cap. $3.29 by my house, but it’s deep in the city so it’s expected. Got closer to the burbs before hopping on the interstate and it was $3.22, and I was down to 1/8 tank, so I stopped to save a buck. But pump was slow af so I bounced after 5 min with 11gal. I get to dude’s house nearly into the exurbs, and on the corner where I posted a shot of the truck afterward, it was $2.88 so I filled up. Get half a mile down the same road, $2.79! A few blocks further $2.72. And it stayed in that pocket of the low 70s/upper 60s for a minute before climbing up again into the city. It’s weird. Prices vary a solid 20¢/gal within a mile or two of my house, and Kroger gas stations are usually cheapest.

Dunno about y’all but what really gets my goat? I’m about sick of this BS where the advertised price is the “cash price”, and when you get to the pump it’s 5¢ or more per gal if you use a credit card. False advertising if you ask me. I’m sure it’s a legal loophole, those bastards know most people won’t pay cash but want to appear like you’re getting a good price on the billboard.

I don't like the more expensive stuff. I'm more of a flavored water guy. Quantity over quality if you will. Well, I like the yangyang flight stuff, but it doesn't come in 30 packs. Also, I try to stick to low carb since I keep gaining weight.

I've only seen the cash price difference for diesel, and at truck stops. But it cycles between the prices on the sign.

That "cash price" has gotten me a few times. Just driving, seeing the price and then stopping in to realize that it was a cash price and not the card price on the machine.

It's about $2.75 on the southside on average for me. My wife is WFH so thankfully I get to use her Kroger points at the pump to full up the truck. I can usually get .30 up to $1.00 off depending.

Yeah, once you get OTP, price drops 50¢ on average. I've been given a dozen explanations why and I think it's all BS, the reality is, people will pay premium inside the city out of desperation/laziness b/c there's less options. My favorite excuse from a station was, "We're in the city! It's harder for the tankers to get here!"

I used Kroger points for gas until one of the megaKrogers off I-20 E gave me a tank of bad gas. It sucks because that's where we do a lot of our fill-in shopping and I have plenty of points racked up on my card. I won't go there again. I've since signed up for fuelrewards.com and linked Kroger and Advance Auto Parts to the account, and linked my AmEx, and through that combo I get points for using the AmEx at certain businesses (esp. food), I get points from Kroger, and I get points from Shell. Usually translates to 10-50¢/gal off each fill-up. Makes buying intown gas less painful.

The transportation part kills me. I live about an hour from a large refinery where ALL of the regional fuel comes from, the station literally across the street from the refinery is always the highest price.

I had a coworker that loved spicy food. The hotter the better. He swore that his remedy for this was putting a little mouthwash on some TP and then dabbing that on his asshole. Said it helped with the burning. I think he's a liar.

I’m guessing my free 50” HDTV is on the way to me for signing up for xfinity mobile. Can’t think of anything I’d order that weighs 35 lbs and require a signature. Recently got Fedex notification today about it being shipped.

Not sure I should be excited or not for a no name tv brand I don’t particularly need.

I'm taking that new job offer so I've been looking at Corollas and Camrys online. I knew used prices were bad but wow. The price for lightly used cars is only $2-4k less than new. You have go past 100k miles before the price drops more but even those are overpriced. At that point it makes more sense to put the miles on our RAV4 instead. At least I know it's reliable.

Any other non Toyota used vehicles I should consider? I'll probably just pocket the vehicle stipend for a while.

Here's a good example. They want $25k for this RAV4 base model with 93k miles. Brand new it was probably $26-27k.

I mentioned it plenty on here before, if I were going GenIII in one of these, LQ9 is the way I'd go. Love it. Super smart choice. Hard part is finding a bulletproof tranny to throw behind it, unless there's some Toyota transmission that's ready to handle as much power as I'd prefer to see eeked out of it.

You'll never find a bargain at a dealership.
If you want off lease you need to have to have the lessee buy it out & sell it to you. Before it gets into the dealers hands.

You do know a mechanic up IL way, could keep an eye out for a bargain for you. I know there could be a sorted 1G Taco available soon, but remember there was that Corolla bargain that passed through not so long ago. Have a relationship with anyone at your local dealer?

I got my Prius from an auto detailer. He did all the used cars for the Subaru shop & they let him randomly buy cars at trade-in. He got a bargain & sold it to me at a bargain.

You're looking for bargains at the front door, gotta go in the back door for the bargains. o_O
