Pretty neat, but a weird cabinet. Weird spot for the microwave, too. I like it.

my newwish giant fridge barely fits. Probably need to add some holes in a cabinet for more flow, but it hasnt given me any trouble all summer.

It's apparently a smart fridge. If it ever wants to get on the internet, it'll be over my dead body.

Not weird cabinet, modern cabinet which fits the house. MIL is a well-known designer, wife is short, "no upper cabinets" was mandatory. After living with this setup since 2009, I can firmly say: Upper cabinets are pretty stupid overall, unnecessary clutter for a kitchen like ours.

To the left of the fridge is the pantry (handles obscured by fridge door), which has about 20-30% more storage than we could fit in the old pantry closet which was ~ 30" wide and 24" deep, ceiling height. I think I posted pics of the kitchen after remodel on here somewhere. Here's a shotgun view after remodel, it's changed some since. The square window was double-height prior. Dad and I did all the work except the cabinets, countertops, weaving in new flooring, and copper because I hate sweating copper.

Under-sink microwave clears out overhead clutter by filling an otherwise "typically dead" corner space, which is always awkward for cabinets. Modified double lazy susan pullout in the cabinet to its left. Pot/pan storage under the microwave. Above the microwave is where the coffee stuff lives now, although half the stuff there today doesn't get used (just drip; I don't pull shots anymore)

The problem with counter depth refrigerators is that you can't fit a large pizza inside.

This fridge will absolutely fit an XL sized pizza, in the box, both up top and in the bottom. It's nearly the full depth of the counter. It fits waaaay more than the side-by-side we had previously, pictured in the remodel photos.

I have, actually. Both in the dog thread and over here, that's Coco. Sadly, the pup pictured above, in remodel pics, Sophie (beagle/rottie/shepherd mix), passed back in 2016-2017.

Having been in your house, definitely feels warm, inviting, modern, and classy! Looks MUCH better in person, but I'm not saying the pics looks like shit. I'm just saying they don't do it justice

I mean, I guess I see how some folks could probably think it to be the case, but I'm [I believe] older than you, and I'm not bothered by it after 14 years of use. Granted, the majority of what I microwave is iced tea, the gas range and gas grill get 95%+ of cooking use in this house. I guess if you microwaved 3 meals or more a day, and bent over to watch each thing as it cooked, I could see how it'd realistically hurt your back but I can't even picture a knuckle dragging sloth doing something like that.

Under-counter nukeboxes are way more common than you'd think in homes built after Y2k.

The way I read it, you were taking sweet tea and nuking it to make hot tea.

love the no upper cabinets, don't think I could live a microwave that low.
What's the plan for nobody to put something on the vent & block it? Dilligence?

I have an almost identical stand that I've always used as a stereo rack. Probably have had it 20 or so years.

I can't tell from the pictures if that TV is resting there or secure. You may want to anchor it so one of the kids doesn't pull it on top of them.
