Never ran into tent farm but I would get panhandled by at least two or three who were regulars or walking in from elsewhere around the outside of the campus. just walking across the bridge to the interstate to get a burger at the Varsity was a hassle.

Maybe I’m just created differently. If I truly were hurting for money, I would be at the Home Depot at 6AM with a sign that says “needs work, speaks English, has own tools, truck and a drivers license”
I’d be the foreman of a roofing crew by 10 AM

Good for you. My very first mortgage was a modular, but it might as well have been a double wide. We did a ton of work to it when we moved in.

You lived in Rock Hill? I like that area. Work sent me there once and I determined I could live there. I think the place I ate at was Legal Remedy Brewing. Smoked meatloaf.

 

So the guy that owns legal remedy is named Mark VanSickle. He was one of my Subaru customers. Nice guy and nice place.
As a city, Rock Hill is a shit hole. Old mining town. I grew up in Charlotte, but no one can afford to buy and live in Charlotte so everyone moves to the outskirts. Wasn’t too bad, 20 minute drive to work. I would never live there again. Moving to Texas was the best thing that ever happened to us. God bless Texas! I will say that I bought that place and sold that place at the right times. It all worked out.

I could not have a more opposite opinion haha! South Carolina is way more scenic. Every time I had to go to Texas I couldn't believe how little nature there is. It's just flat and dry. I've heard the pretty part of Texas is Hill Country. Famous for.....it's hills..?

I guess I only saw the nice part of Rock Hill. I definitely didn't think it was a shit hole. Never been to Charlotte.

I grew up in Quail Hollow. We had that fucking golf course in our backyard back before the PGA could even spell PGA.
