Someone on here recently showed me a 2UZ-FE with the SAI pump outside the engine, above one of the valve covers.

It makes me wonder what other kinds of crazy stuff I haven't seen.

I thought it was to hold the cover down. Looks like it’s not attached to the block on yours.

Was it a 2007+ 2uz? Because I know their SAIS is different from 05-06.
Or maybe it was 2008+, since 1G Sequoia still had 2uz in 2007 and 2G tundra had em as the base engine until the 4.6 took over

I'm not sure. Apparently on the 2007 Tundra 4.7L it's external? Over here, passenger side?

    upload_2023-10-5_18-48-10.png
But the one shared with me was over here, passenger side.

I was able to use the screencap and video duration to track down the exact video that came from. I knew the shop looked familiar.

    Yep it's a shared affliction.

TKK were a special lot. They were crazy IRL. I had A Daisy Chain 4 Satan on vinyl in my late teens (early 20s?), it was pretty solid. But overall, wasn't their biggest fan.

I think they got popular at one point due to a cartoon movie, I feel like it may've been Kooler Than Jesus or linked to it? I forget.

And don't think I didn't notice you were jamming 24hr revenge therapy for like a week now. I should probably give that album a spin someday. I just always assume I won't like it because its pop punk.

I would use “pop” in their case a bit loosely. I find NOFX to be more pop-punk thank Jawbreaker. Jawbreaker is pretty gritty stuff. There are some upbeat, maybe bubblegumish songs on their albums, like Chesterfield King, for example, but there’s pretty damn dark stuff, “Tour” is maybe a good example.

it’s a band. The joy in it for me is the memories woven into the music. Same is true for much of what you and I both listen to.

I've got the same one. Always wondered how it could be useful for diagnostics. Haven't come across it in the FSM, but honestly haven't looked for it in there yet. If you open it, it appears to be designed for probe testing individual circuits, rather than accept a single connector like the obd2 port. I do find it strange that only some trucks seem to have it. Insignificant perhaps
