    I didn't think I had a power issue either.
Love my 4.56s. I can do burnouts with 33.5x11.5 tires now. Not that I do that often. But I could.

Dude that's a terrible idea. If you want to save on gas, buy something like a Carolla or RAV4. Trading a Tundra for a Tacoma to save on gas does not compute. Savings are going to be tiny. We like having our RAV4 for 27-29mpg highway.

Well, we went to go feed them and let them out of their cage, as we normally do. We sit there and they take their bath and run around. Anyone who's owned chinchillas knows they're assholes and dgaf about you. So when squishy jumped on my leg I was like, "wtf"? Then he propped himself up on my chest and grill says "he's gonna bite....." then he just bit my nip! I felt violated. So now I'm in the rare club of "people who had their nipple bit by a chinchilla on their birthday", or the PWHTNBBACOTB club. Super exclusive.

There's a lot more to it than just saving gas. I need a second truck to loan my father from time to time so he can haul a small trailer and do stuff that requires a truck bed. He doesn't like getting in and out of my lifted 4x4 and he don't like that he has to open the tire swing-out to open the tail gate and he don't like the tool box effectively making the bed shorter... So yeah that's half the reason I bought the T100 (but he didn't like it either, manual trans) the other half is because I needed another vehicle while my 4x4 got some hell upgrades a couple years ago. Header, exhaust, 4.56 gears, and elocker professionally installed.

But I don't feel like explaining all that so I just said gas. Which is only like 1/3 of the story. And I'm not driving no fucking Rav 4.
I despise crossovers. And I've never owned anything but pickups trucks.

Makes sense. Maybe I missed it, but why can't pops drive the Terminator?

I never considered the RAV4 to be a crossover but it's definitely a chick car. I don't care. If I'm ever rich I'll drive two gas guzzlers. For now, I like having 1 vehicle that gets decent MPG. Ravioli is comfortable and roomy. Maybe I'll slap a He/Him sticker on the back to send a message.

if he's towing a trailer, then he doesnt need a truck, go get your v8 4runner. I dont know what cheap paintjobs go for, but that'll double the value of the t3.

My parents got a '23 Corolla LE, non-hybrid. They just took it on a road trip from S.AL up to Nova Scotia & NB, stopping at national parks along the way to hike, and stopping to visit old family friends we were stationed with over the years.
They track mpg religiously. They topped out just shy of 49.5mpg, and mixed hwy/city driving averaged 45mpg. Basically 1/3 the gas they would've used in their 2.5 Gen had they not got the 'rola. I had to rent a '22 'rola last time work sent me to PHX, for the mpg it actually is peppy in ECO mode.

I mean, just being able to hit the soda fountain section at the end of World of Coke is almost worth it. Save room, there's some seriously weird f'n shit they've got on tap from other countries, especially the stuff sold in Asia!

Too top-heavy AND overloaded with people promoted beyond their competence (Peter principle in full effect)

This is what my company is suffering with right now, and unfortunately, I don't see a positive end, things are really f'ed up right now, shedding talent. I suspect they're announcing back-to-office next week, and we'll see what my wife's company saw, 12-16% loss across all their business units, people going to other places who'll allow remote/hybrid work. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed for a layoff, so I can get a handsome package for what will be 25 years of service next May.

She's a fruitcake. Too big of a personality for Sugarcubes bitd. While some may not love her original music, some of the remixes people have done of her music over the years are bonkers. She tends to attract exceptionally creative people, which lends to some wild ass videos too.

"All is full of love" is one of those songs where the original is cool and everything but the remix is great and the video, considering how ancient it is, was really cutting eds, IMO. 2nd vid below (original song, not the better remix).

Human Behavior is another classic - weird ass video, really catchy music. There's a reason people like her. She's a quirky little weirdo. She stays true to her roots though, and has just as much Icelandic music. Her more-recent recordings aren't as captivating as things from the 90s

RAV4 is the original crossover before they even had a name for the segment and before they went from looking like SUVs to looking like lifted wagons. It was then joined by the Ford Escape and Mazda tribute.
Crossovers are not body on frame, they're built like cars and usually FWD or AWD.

He can and does drive the 03. However I don't have room for three vehicles. And I kinda want to change things up

I'd love that, but he wants a truck bed. He only tows our 10x6 trailer a few times a year, or other small trailers for the annual Rotary Club's music festival/bbq cook off.

Wow. I didn't know they were THAT efficient. Do you know if that's after doing the math at the pump? I need to tell my dad this. He's driving a POS 2012 Nissan Rogue that he can't decide what to do with. He doesn't want a car payment but the Rogue is going downhill fast.

I should write a tale of two cars. We bought our 2012 RAV4 in April 2012. He bought the Rogue new in May 2012. We've had a way better experience than him. Dad takes pretty good care of his vehicles and the Rogue has been a monumental POS compared to our RAV4. He regrets not going with Toyota but his pissy wife(now ex) didn't like the headrests in the Rav4's. Now he has no wife and he's stuck with this Rogue.

Well I got a po133 in the 03 today and I've had po420 and po430. I've already replaced the cats, and all 4 O2 sensors. I've been suspecting an injector issue was the problem and this confirms it.
Guess it's time to finally install these DD 12 holes.
@Mr.bee any chance you might wanna give me a hand next time you're in town?

At each fill-up they track mileage and how many gallons to the decimal and calculate based on that, write it down on a notepad they keep in the console. They've seen pretty good gas mileage on the 3.75hr commute from their place to ours, but Dad didn't believe the 49 either because it exceeded what's stickered on the car. So he downloaded a smartphone app, re-ran all mom's numbers into the app, got the same, and continued using the smartphone app on their trip across all the fill-ups. They were averaging 45-46 through the mountains with lots of climbs and 48-49 on flat ground. Granted, they also probably hold at 65-70 also and rarely touch cruise control, so YMMV.

Yup - basically what @KNABORES said. We looked at the Rogue around 2010 before getting our 1st Highlander. No comparison. And man did we dodge a bullet. So many f'n issues with the Rogue. I've never seen anyone have a good experience with a modern Nissan, other than the 240SX.

Agreed. I had a mechanic I used when we lived in Orlando that specialized in Japanese vehicles. He told me he would never own or recommend Nissan.

I squeeze a few tiny mpg’s out of my wimp truck but the Honda minivan blows it away. Definitely wish there were some eco mode but just more pressure for that EV conversion I need to do.

I drive the wimp truck more for the shorter wheelbase and better visibility than any other reason. The third Gen shifts better, though lack of low end torque makes it feel a little lazier.

My dad is at a point where he needs to spend $3-4k to keep the Rogue running when it's worth maybe $4500. It's leaking oil from at least two different places.

To date, the only repair I've had to make on the RAV4 aside from maintenance was a leaking upper radiator hose.

I'd consider the LCAs a repair. That's a tad more than basic maintenance. Basic maintenance IMO is anything a person can do without jackstands, using only the factory jack and a basic toolkit, like this.

I haven't touched the LCA's on the RAV4 but the bushings are starting to look sus. I'll probably do a suspension overhaul on it around 175k.

Ah weird, I thought I remembered you doing them b/c the bushings were shot and something-something-alignment.

I did replace the struts and shocks at 120k but I consider that maintenance. Ball joints, tie rods and control arms will come later.
