Anyone know the 'weight rating' of AC tailgate cables? Just curious, i know i've loaded the atv with the tailgate on, so at least 300 lbs. just curious if there a number recommended as a max.

2018! LOL, that's like Barney went to the pet store to get BAM-BAM a saber-tooth tiger cub out of date automotive pricing.
but you got yours, so you're all good.

My next 1GT may end up being a 1GSequoia - still way cheaper & so much easier to get Paw Paw's cap color matchedo_O.

Any detail compound recommendations for my white tundra? I think it's a single stage white right?

Thinking of buffing the whole truck out as a birthday gift to myself and would love to make her shine.

I bought an 03 two years ago for $2800

I adore the 5vz but buying a Tundra with a 5vz is just stupid IMHO, especially for nearly $10k. At least get the the 4.0 V6 from the 05-06 with the 6 speed. No timing belt either, it's got a chain and only about 10 less HP than an non-vvti 4.7

The 5vz is only 190hp and 220tq. Perfect for a compact truck. Not so much a fullsize.
    1GR is 236hp 266tq
    Non-vvti 2uz is 245hp 315tq

Fair point. So we don’t really give any F’s for MT FGT unless ‘05-‘06?

Then again I have no vvti and my 2nd gen Tacoma has no balls, nor does my 3rd gen at low rpm so maybe I’m the kind of idiot who wouldn’t know big balls if they were slapped across my face?

I sorta feel like SC is dumb, take a reliable engine and make it suspect, why? Better off with a transplant I’d think. Or EV conversion. Which is my real plan for the ‘05. Then vrrrrooooom (without the audio of course).

On the flipside the 5vz is bullet proof. More so than the 2uz. There's a guy with a supercharged single cab 5vz manual '97 Taco with over 500k miles on the clock. It's been supercharged since it first rolled off the lot. That's the year the SC came out and the last year you could buy a V6 single cab Tacoma

That's the one! I miss being on TW. Their 1GTaco crowd is super tight knit like our 1GTundra crowd. TW is how I met the vast majority of my wheeling buddies

on the TRX... I'd say either buy the TRX or lower your expectations haha

Or buy a first gen 6.2 raptor, upgrade the suspension and supercharge it

Well shit, new coil didnt fix the xr. I was hoping to stay out of the wiring. Someone has done this bike dirty in the last 30 years. Some of the grounds are zip-tied to the chassis.

It is single stage which means you can bring the shine back.

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/single-stage-paint-correction.42291/

Shifty has some good tips too. There is more than one way to go about it. Even 4 years after fixing mine the paint still looks good. I wax it once or twice a year with different products.
