found a young lady's DIY (with friends) Toyota's mod channel while wandering the internet. She pulled me in with the 1974 Celica, the early '80's Supra giveaway helped hold me on, the rusty Tundra axle made me laugh because that's TRUTH!

Can't help but wonder if she has the same problem as @Sunnier with legroom in a Tundra. Probably answered in another video.

There are only a couple of types. You should be able to go to the LAPS and find a kit from Dorman and I think even Loctite that has the glue and the tombstone in one. Carry your mirror with you. It should be really obvious which one your mirror takes.

My parents were in the same boat. They were in Bradenton (Bayshore Gardens). Awesome beaches to the west, almost exactly 10 miles to Coquina Beach. Sometimes you'd get lucky and make it in 25 minutes. But most days after 2010, didn't matter which time of day you went, it's 45-60 mins. It's part of the reason they left. when they moved there right around Y2K, that was a 15-20 min trip, tops. The congestion there just got stupid. Where they are in in southern AL, you can get to Panama City beach in about the same amount of time as it took on a slow day.

    Alyssa Milano vibes.

@JasonC. it's a good thing I save pics of everything I've done on vehicles I've owned over the years

Too bad the 250 swap came when digital cameras only had lower resolution. Anyway, check under the hood for this linkage - off the column, below the MC. You probably just need to slightly adjust this linkage in the circle to get shifting back in order again. There may be a 'proper' way. I fudged it.

Note how rusty the one closest to us was. That's how far-off things were, and why it was a pain in the ass to shift into a couple of the gears. After adjusting it up, it shifted like butter.

It wasn't for a loooong time. My parents weren't sure about it back in the late 90s but needed to get the hell out of where they were in middle FL, so they picked up a rental almost directly across the street from the BG marina, and the house had a canal+dock behind it which is perfect (we're a family of anglers). After a few years, a house opened up a couple blocks north and they jumped on it. I remember when they built the Super Wallyworld at 53rd and SR301 a long time ago now. It took less than 10-15 minutes to get there. Every year it stayed there, the trip stretched out another 1-2 minutes due to more people moving in, saturating the area. By the time they left, 35-40 minutes average. It's a joke. It was 2x-3x more congested than what I'm dealing with on surface streets here in ATL. I'm glad where they live now has less than 30k population. Makes it hella more pleasant to visit.

    Local Auto Parts Store.

I know in our days of scAmazon and other online retailers it's easy to shop from the comfort of your chair, but there's something to be said for - even if it takes 30-45 minutes to reach one - grabbing the mirror, going to the LAPS, and finding what you need in-person.

Rearview mirrors have been around for ages. There are really only a couple of types of tombstone mounts. Dorman sells THIS KIT with the most-popular tombstone mount styles at virtually every LAPS you can imagine. Loctite makes some of the best adhesive out there, and you'll also find their adhesive kit at the LAPS directly. If it's an Advance Auto Parts that's near you, note you can save up to 15%-20% using online coupons for instore pickup while you're standing inside the store, and you will likely beat scAmazon by at least 10-20%.

Get the tombstone kit. Get the glue. Mark the outside of your windshield, drawing a circle around the current mount location before starting. Heat up and remove the old mount, using real Acetone (read the label) and a fresh non-scratching scraper to clean the remainder of adhesive off, and clean it really well with acetone. Read the directions on the Loctite adhesive carefully. Follow it to the letter to mount the correct tombstone onto your windshield. Allow proper cure time, and after you confirm fitment, clean the outside of your windshield.

If you've never done it before it probably seems daunting, but this isn't rocket science. I guarantee you the tombstone you need is inside that Dorman kit. Pull each one out, and attempt to slide into the base of your replacement mirror. If it doesn't fit, flip it over and try the other side. The flat side normally points downward, towards the dash IIRC. You'll notice the tombstone is beveled/angled/notched on the long sides, the wider side faces out, creating the slot for the mirror to slide onto.

Take your time when doing this, you'll be fine. Consult with YouTube if you need help with the removal steps, cleaning steps, or adhesive steps. You got this.

Hey there, so I was doing some research and apparently the remount kit itself is extremely hard to find. Apparently companies still rely on communist China to receive their work & thus we as consumers get punished as a result. However, I did find someone on eBay who sells a kit in Maryland, so gonna wait on them to see if they're gonna ship it. After that, I'll have to borrow my mom's hair dryer since I don't have any other equipment in terms of getting the glue to come off the current tombstone. Also ill look for Acetone in order to clean that area and make sure that the adhesive comes off. My mom does have some Gorilla Glue bottle, but with this heat, im really worried about it actually sticking. Also the package that I ordered on eBay will come with it, so will give that a try as well. If those fail, then ill go get some Loctite and call it a day.

Timely reminder, since I dug up an old post with this info a minute ago, figured I'd re-post.

shifty BBQ rub - combine & mix well (makes enough for 2-4 butts):

    3 TBSP smoked paprika
    2 TBSP brown sugar
2 TBSP kosher salt (half this if using table salt)
    1 TBSP onion powder
    ½ TBSP garlic powder
    1 tsp black pepper
    1 tsp dried parsley

Optional: Sometimes I'll toss in a couple tsp of random seasoning blends, like Merkén, Montreal Steak, Caribbean Jerk, whatever. Just to switch it up. Anything with mild ground chili, cumin, coriander seems to mesh really well. Sometimes I'll just toss in cumin alone, I'm a little bit of a cumin junkie. Make sure you use smoked paprika, not regular/hot/mild paprika. scAmazon has a bunch of 1lb bulk bags, both Frontier Co-op and also Red Bunny Farms make a killer restaurant-quality product for less than you'll pay for 3-4 jars of rub, but you can make about 3doz jars of rub with 1lb of Paprika.

Not just good for smoking. It's killer rubbed on skewered shrimp for grilling, just mix with oil to form a paste and rub all over your shrimp once they're on the skewer.

Mixing brown sugar, salt, and smoked paprika alone creates a bbq flavor. This recipe could add add cayenne for some kick, the onion and garlic powder round out the flavor ... Never buy rubs from the store!! It's too easy to make something better on your own!

You can get rid of a tombstone with a basic Bic lighter. I'm not sure a hair dryer is hot enough.

Well - young is subjective, from this balcony she's young. Anyone who can bend their knees that tight (other video maybe) is young in my book.

Out of left field I know but do anyone sell thin flexible USB cables anymore? I want some USB C cables that are thin and flexible and all I can find are thick-ass braided cables. What the hells? My iphone having friends always seem to have flexible cables that are nice and thin. Where's the love for Androids.
