I have the fancy leather Limited captains' chairs and my lower back is miserable on long trips. I think they're too low, plus I can't move them far enough back for my long legs. It may be that Toyota built trucks for a different demographic.

    From Bloomberg:
Catalytic converters were streaming into Curtis Cores from Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, New Mexico, Texas, even California. A regular supply arrived from Houston, where the sellers seemed to specialize in the “torpedoes” taken from Toyota Tacoma and Tundra trucks. One of Curtis’ employees noted in intercepted Facebook messages that torpedoes “are the most stolen catalytic converter in the region.”

So I really dont have an issue with heating and remove the old tombstone. It's really more a matter of getting the proper tombstone for my rearview mirror that I received in the mail as I can't seem to find the correct one online.

Anyone else having a shitty all-rain 4th July weekend? It’s hardly let up and when it does temporarily, it’s still uncomfortably humid and overcast.

Went through my new-to-me tools in the course of some shop (read: a little shed) cleanup and organizing.

This Chicago Pneumatic impact wrench cleaned up nice and it took some oil. Can’t tell what model it is. Also need to research what those dial settings relate to. Can’t wait to bus’ some caps (aka heads off some gd bolts):

Used some coupons for a set of impact sockets today in Standard and Communist.

Found the instructions for my steering wheel puller that @shifty` identified based off two parts. Similar kit was around $40 at Harbus Freightimus today so I’m happy to have this (20% off one item sale through the 4th, btw, if even on our national birthday your love of cheap tools outweighs your love of our national sovereignty, which is why I went on the 3rd):

Man my truck feels a lot peppier after changing all the fluids and the fuel filter. No clue how old that filter was, but truck has 342k miles.

Still need to fix the passenger floor leak and install DD injectors.

You’re surrounded by water aren’t you? Can’t take a dip?

(unless it’s the Gulf of Mexico, I’d stay out of that cesspool)

Contemplating a passenger airbag swap if I can scrounge the time tomorrow. From additional reading it sounds like potentially bad capacitors which leak over time? Interesting.

wondering how long to budget and if I should attempt swapping the wheel for one with audio buttons at the same time. Not sure if clockspring is pinned though and I think the only clockspring I have is a dual stage.

The bags go bad over time? Never heard that before. I’d be pissed if they didn’t work and I survived.

Shit, that reminds me I still need to replace my clock spring. I miss cruise control. Luckily the previous owner installed an aux horn so I don't fail the safety inspection. But the CEL will fail the emissions inspection. Stupid high flow cats. My 06 likes em fine, but my 03 hates em. I wish URD still sold O2 simulators.

I don’t know how bad it is on the TX side but the smell and brown water of Tampa and Clearwater say it all to me.

oh, maybe possible to swap passenger airbag without too much effort or messing with the wheel even. Tempting.

Yeah, a few of the guys I worked with down there said they went to South Padre Island for spring break and loved it. Took a sofa with them to hang on the beach.

That reminds me I have to replace my horn fuse. Stole that one to replace the O2 heater fuse when the wire got chewed up.

And if anyone lives near a Sheetz they're running a 4th promotion, all grades of gas for $1.76

That's weird. Maybe you caught it at a bad time because the Gulf is normally really nice here. The best beaches in Florida are in this area.

The problem is the traffic to get there. Mom is 10 miles from the beach but it can take an hour to get there.

Hey, Tampa just changed all the water in the bay. It's all freshened up until the next storm/change. go ahead, dive in, that's clean dirt.
