I’ve had a trippy adventure in the desert before where we had a(what felt like) hour long interaction trying to open beers, that transpired almost exactly like this socket saga did.

A 4x4 V8 regular cab is somewhat rare by now. I'm pretty sure I can see 4x4 buttons. Could be a fun project or a money pit. Or both. :)

Trade him the SHOs. Or one of them, whichever is running. Or one and a parts car. Or all three.

I wonder if the 'oil leak into the exhaust' is just the valve covers leaking like usual. And I wonder if the knock is actually rats getting under the intake as usual.

I thought that was odd too. I can't recall a single member actually having a real knock. The fact that Meineke diagnosed it makes me suspicious.

This is a much better option in my opinion, strengthens everything up and you have more adjustment points. I mean you could probably use these greased bolts with the kit. I've been looking to purchase this for a bit.

Or this if they ever ever release it for our trucks.

Those are pretty cool. I had been considering some similar off roady 4 sided cams for a while now (if I pull the trigger on Solo LCAs) but these being greasable is a potential game changer.

I had the Teq off-road shop that did my regear go ahead and regrease my UCA bushings before T2S and I already started squeaking on my way home. My guess is all the sand in the wind and the bouncy NM roads are to blame. Best case scenario it's my OEM LCA bushings needing some love that can be sprayed on em. If I have to I'll buy some Solo LCAs and those greasable bolts.
I just don't want to have to buy new UCA bushings and deal with that. I'm sick of the squeaking.

You could have stopped here. This interstate closure would be the least of my worries if I lived in that city.

I don't disagree, but I was thinking more along the lines of externally, like dripping onto the manifolds externally. Oil bypass at rings being obvious culprit, but then we've seen folks on here who are smoking out the rear because of leaky injectors, power steering air control valve and other spots... Dunno. Again: Meineke did the diagnostic, seller used less words in their ad than in my reply. For $1k, sounds like it's worth the risk.

Although it sucks not being able to fly, it did save me from having to travel to Camden, NJ across the river for a business meeting. I’d hate to get lost there driving from the airport.

Wellll sheeeit. Thought I just had a dead battery in my 1999 Ranger. Replaced it and still nothing. Was thinking starter relay or ignition fuses, but they seem fine. Don’t have a circuit tester where I am. Key in the ignition chime sounds and dome light comes on strong, but turn it to ACC and nothing on the ignition circuit works. Headlights don’t work either.

    Hep a brotha out?
