Could it actually work in 'merica to do what so many you'ropeans do - sell everything, get a wagon & one of those folding trailers that can hang on the garage wall?
is a big Tundra safer than a medium modern car? I mean, what could happen?

Well might be saying good by to the sequoia tomorrow. Got somebody driving in from Memphis to look at it and guy setting on go, to hop a plan if Memphis doesn’t buy it. We’ll see what happens :anonymous:

    Beer is definitely happening here.

Ghost pepper not bad. Not like 7pot or even reaper. I'd be all over that

Also, if you just replace the text with a period, then wait 60 seconds, it'll save the period as a draft. But @Sunnier has the wooden stake thru the heart.

Anyone in here into / have good knowledge on drones?
My soon to be 7 year old really wants one for his birthday this April. Preferably with video, but that may be above his age group?

Best advice I’ve heard on buying a drone for your kid…buy two so you still have one to give them after you break the first one testing it out.

I had too small of a drone that wasnt capable of handling the wind here. It was more of an indoor drone, and once i learned how to land on a bowl, i lost all interest. Gave it to my buddies 8 year old.

I’d buy him one of a lesser value, he will be crashing it. I mean one on the level of an RC car. It’ll only go a couple hundred feet away, much less chance of losing it. Also make sure it has prop guards, it’ll survive more crashes that way. Would be good to have a screen on the controller. The drone I bought was expensive, it’s rated to go up to 6 miles and maintain connection. Not sure how high because I set the limit to the legal 400 ft. If/when you crash one of them, it’s expensive to fix IF it’s not totaled, AND if you’re able to retrieve it. Consumer drones are not typically meant to be toys for children and if the craft is above 249 grams, you’re actually required to be licensed. Like I said, think ‘RC car’ and you won’t be throwing money away or getting in trouble. One of those few times where you’ll want the restricted version of something. You can buy yourself the expensive one, and once you have faith he can fly it then you can pass it down. They are fun. I will tell you that. Mine also shoots 4k video and takes insane still shots.

Nice choice. I grew up near Pottsville,PA. The Yuengling mansion held a haunted house each Halloween that was really fun.

From experience, mine now 10 and 12, when we went thru this phase, I found out the hard way a number of things.

Anything under $100 is virtually guaranteed to suck and die within days to a month.
The controls on most drones are difficult for the lackluster fine motor skills single-digit-age kids have.
The kid is going to get it stuck on roofs, trees, smash it into things, try using it in the house, be prepared for extra work.

We ultimately couldn't find anything that worked, even my neighbor's $500 DJI drone was tough for the youngest to manage. Worst part is, my FIL still hasn't gotten the clue yet, and just bought another drone for him for his bday, which took about 3 hours for him to kill. But honestly, the dog was gonna kill it for him if he kept using it with her around. :D

Yeah, Manoa is where the old homes are. This one is from 1914 I believe. Then it got an addition ten years later. Much more rain up here in the valley than down below but it’s been rainy everywhere for much of this trip. I kind of like warm rain, whereas I don’t love cold rain, especially when it’s in the 30’s or 40’s.

A s-ton of pickup trucks on this island too, I’m reminded of where my foolishness came from.

My dad’s ‘06 lived out in a drier spot for its first owner and now has a small leak. I am guessing it’s the third brake light since he parks it sloping downhill and with all the rain, some is sneaking through a cracked and dried gasket. Either that or the drip moldings? It’s apparently leaking out the overhead console so that rules out the windshield.

For sure, that was the best part about being a kid, sliding on the frozen grass at school. But our two weeks of winter seem to be over, maybe we will have a epic spring and be able to enjoy a few months before it gets absurdly hot
