You guys, I just bought a DJI Avata drone. Got a good deal on it but it’s for the drone only. Just ordered the goggles and remote control from DJI….ooofff. Guess it’s not gonna be that cheap of a deal after all. The wife is gonna be pissed.

Let me guess... I'm assuming the ni_ prefix is for National Instruments? Those guys don't know how to make small packages for anything

Yep, It’s for Labview. New software installs now take anywhere from 1-3 hours to get done nowadays.

I literally took 1/2 day to download and install Intel’s Quartus Prime software for FPGA development. Whole program is 50 Gbytes to download and install.

Got my gas tank filled, battery disconnected and some window/door plastic wrap insulation for tonight. Need to drip both hot and cold water in -7 degree temps. Figure I’ll keep the heat at 60F so I’m not doubling my heat usage for the month with just 1 day.

If anyone asks me to come into work, I’ll tell them I’ve got a sore throat and am working from home. I don’t want to know how to kill my starter at sub-zero temps. :spy:

We used NI's TestStand stuff for an test automation platform we were hashing through in Munich like 15 years ago now. I remember it being super flexible, but not necessarily user friendly. Engineering tools designed by engineers, for engineers, and none of it was intuitive for non-engineers.

My son had one of those DJI drones when he was in Navy pilot training in Corpus. He had permission to fly it at the airfield but that stupid smart drone decided to auto land thinking it was at an airport and ended up at the bottom of a lake on the aerodrome

I'm not even going out tomorrow. Stocked up on food, beer and coffee.

Although if I was going to put in a new starter, it would be fun to see if it would turn over in -10 degree weather.

Reading up on fluids, only gear oil has an issue at -10F supposedly but that's a generic number.

It was -10 to -20 here last year? 2 years ago? For about a week straight and the Tundra started and drove just fine but it did get an extended warm up during those days.

You know what's awesome? When your brain is too dumb to know what a day off is so it wakes you up at 545 as usual, with no alarm or anything. I swear, if it was a work day and I forgot my alarm, I'd sleep till 7.
