Thanks for cleaning up the messes @ColoradoTJ , I’m sure it gets old. Especially with dupe accounts after perma.

I’m glad this one is back open because 99% of my bs is not stuff I’ve done to my Tundra, as much as I wish it were and I feel bad polluting more focused threads. Nice to have a kitchen sink spot.

Anyone have any good mom gifts?

6 hours till the Christmas get together and I still have nothing. Got dad a floor Jack though.

I think I’m going with battery heated socks, but even that sounds lame.

Just had our first power outage. They are doing rolling blackouts for 15 minutes at a time. Thankful it wasn't longer.

The puppy would die. She’s basically a couch potato due to her dementia and unable to drive.

My siblings and I have been gifting our parents different things the last few years. Golf passes for a few, plane tickets, taking them on a whole family vacation.

This year it's a dining pass for around town and a grocery gift card.

(I just saw the newer post) maybe something as easy as a year of some streaming service if she likes tv, puzzles, maybe even coloring books since there are grown up versions now.

Thanks. Everyone else got puzzles and restaurant gift certificates. Next year I’m just taking them out to eat. This year since I got dad the floor jack, I’d like to get just something for her.

Had a small little fire on the kitchen table during final wrappings. Mom caused it. Luckily it was contained...

Candle was on the table where the blue dot is.

Other than her phone, she doesn’t use electronics much. Stays away from the computer even though her passwords are taped to it. Meds are in the daily plastic dispenser.

Guess I’m going with the heated electric socks along with 8 rechargeable energizer batteries and charger. The cheap lithium ones that come with most of the socks can overcharge and in their case, burn the house down.

I suggest you make sure those socks have an auto shut off, so she doesn’t get burned if she’s not paying attention, a lot of oldsters have trouble with recognizing temperature extremes in their extremities, especially when dementia is occurring.

I thought the heated socks were a great idea. Especially since she's already got a snuggie.
