@bmf4069 , I received my 12w3 yesterday. That thing is a beefy heavy beast. Nuts!

wish I had time to get my boxes cleared and speakers installed now that I have two of them to do. Doesn’t look likely to happen before summer.

Man, I'd love to have something I could throw a 15 into again. They need so much airspace though.

I had two free-air 15" CVs on a baffleboard behind the seat of the '87 Civic 4dr my parents handed down to me in high school. That thing would rattle your f'n teeth.

I had two 15” CV’s in a ported box which barely fit in the backseat of my ‘83 prelude. Front seats kept it from moving. It hit hard enough but that was pretty damn dumb in hindsight.

I finally received the 6.5" speaker mounting kit and wire pig tails to do a speaker swap on my front doors. The previous owner blew the speakers.

I had an Alpine 15” back in college in the trunk of my Volvo 244GLT, that was a great trunk for it, sealed box took most of the trunk, I would open the armrest passthrough to the cabin like a port.
Didn’t shake my hair like the 2x15” Eclipses in a classmates minivan.
Loved bass, no place for it now :-(
Still got an Infinity 10” and Eclipse class D amp in storage that I never installed from about 15 years ago.

@bmf4069 and I were just talking about Eclipse the other day, and I brought up their relationship to Denso, via Fujitsu.

A lot of what you get out of vehicles is all about the shape and volume of the interior of the vehicle. My friend had the same setup as me, with two 15" vegas on a baffle board that basically boxed-in the rear seat of his mid-80s Buick Regal. It blew the pants off my Honda. He ended up swapping out for five 12" Earthquakes on a baffle board that bisected the Regal's cabin at the B-pillar and ran around spanking pants in SPL competitions with it.

A single JL 12" in another friend's '68 Beetle felt nearly just as loud as my two 15s. Something about the arc of the open-air cabin and that well-designed sealed box, I guess.

I'm curious how difficult it would be to add heated seating elements to my cloth seats? I have heated cloth seats in my Subaru... Hmmmm

I did it in my old Jeep. It's not terribly difficult if you pull the seats from the truck.

4 Kicker Comp 8” with Punch 45’s driving them at 2 ohms in a hatchback. Custom box I built myself out of MDF. No one believed they were 8’s back there.

I believe it. There was this one girl at some of the IASCA shows when I was in high school, pretty sure she had a Camaro/Firebird, single 8 in it, crushing people. Big shocker, because she was a girl, and it was an 8. Small shop in Lady Lake FL threw it together if memory serves (long time ago).

I alluded to this previously, about people not believing what's possible with 6x9s. I knew a guy that was running 6x9s in his regular cab truck with a box he designed with whatever the popular app was back then for box design, wish I could remember the name, something like qBox or winISD, I used to have a copy. He laid it out on the school library computer after school and built it in woodshop class.

I think the subs called for 0.85-1.1 cu ft. of airspace for a sealed box. I built them on the large side to bring out the bigger boomier notes, but they hit pretty good being in a sealed box. Best of both worlds I guess. Rock had a hammer of a kick drum and rap sounded pretty good too.

Looks like the JLs want 2.25 ft³ per sub, sundowns want 3.0 - 4.0 ft³ per sub. I'm leaning towards the JLs since the peak power on them is 600w, sundowns are 1000w. So I'd be pushing the JLs more.....not accurately, but closer to peak efficiency maybe? I don't know what I'm trying to say.

But yeah, an 8.0 ft³ box would take up a good chunk of the back seat, which I'm not terribly concerned about. I'm also trying to come up with a way to bolt it down. I'd like to keep at least the bottom seat in, but if one or both seats need to come out that's fine. If both come out I guess I could mount the amps on the back wall. I'm still a ways off from the subs and box(probably January) so I got time to plan and prewire.

Ah, the good 'ol Clarion SRW8000. 32" of sweet, sweet cone.

I used to like Clarion's head units when they first came out, but they went to shit pretty quick.

She started acting up again today on what I hoped would be the final test drive. Thoughts anyone? I’m at a loss. Everything I can check with the tools at hand don’t tell me shit.
    https://youtube.com/shorts/Lo3oRGrgIwk?feature=share
Seems load dependant. Which makes me think ground. But I’ve gone through just about all of them. Off throttle or light throttle it won’t act up. It’s moderate throttle. Full throttle seems to make it move up to 4-5k where this happens

Swapped pedal/throttle body yet? I'm wondering if there is some sort of feedback happening with the aps/tps.

It does sound like it could be ground related, but I'd love to see the condition of the integration relay.

What is that knocking sound we're hearing in the video?

Is it when under load, or when the pedal is in a certain position?

Same issue as laminar flow with cameras, I suspect. Cone throw is matching approximate FPS camera is filming at, combined with angle, makes it look funny.

I mean, '06 is DBW, so ... if the pedal position sensing was fecked, has some corrosion, or otherwise ... I can see why it would do stupid shit like that.

What I'm struggling with is the damn gauges freaking out and CEL spiking at each event. I suppose an arc/spark from something DBW-related could cause that. But the gauge cluster freaking is the only reason I keep going back to the integration panel.

I was thinking earlier, "Imagine if this had VSC and it was something totally stupid, like ... the stupid VSC sensor that's somewhere under the center console for gyroscopic/tilt control was freaking out", but I can't fathom why it would cause the CEL to throw and the power surges. I don't think it's power dropout after seeing the video, it seems more like a surge is happening. Maybe electrical surge, which would bring me back to the alternator or charging circuit.

Is it possible for you to watch or track voltage while it's happening to rule out power surges?
