Well, the more expensive version is a "pass-through" design. That's appealing to me as I had to rotate the tent of pain several times for differing projects, either the chevy, the mule, the tundra, or crackie.

Ya know, if I hadn't burned the canvas from the last tent of pain, I could have made the cheaper one a pass through too, but I didn't have the foresight for that. Oh well... LOL

Another benefit to “pass through” that I see, is that tent being potentially more tolerant of high winds than one enclosed on three sides. Sure it may not be as comfortable to work in (tent of pain, anyway), but it’s less likely to get blown over, or the walls torn through, if wind can pass through. I like your choice.

Hell yeah, and if you need to jump off a cliff, it acts as a great parachute and/or windsail.

    Here's what I'm thinking on...

Crackie stays parked about where the red oval is, but I can move him.

The camper is about where the blue rectangle is, again, I can move it, but it's mostly level, and I'd prefer not to if I don't have to.

I'd like to put the new tent of pain in the yellow square, but there's an old beech tree stump with a hump in the ground where the purple X is. Hmmm...

    upload_2022-11-29_17-38-20.jpg

This is a great idea that I didn't see. Anyways, I always tie the tent off to whatever vehicle I'm working on with ropes/ratchet straps. I think it's mainly a Non-issue, but still, a great point!

One of the issues you had was working during quiet hours. Do you still work 3rd shifts? You appear to be putting the tent pretty close to the house.
tree stump - remove it. Rent a grinder. It's hard dangerous work - pay someone to do that crap. :)

About the switch panel - The lower dash is designed to prevent your knee caps &/or hips from getting broken during a collision. I'll encourage you to give that location greater reflection.

I remember that issue well. My current job has me home at midnight, and awake between 8-10 am when everyone is gone. I don't have to leave for work until 1pm, and everyone is still gone usually. My current job might change soon though...

The stump? I'm thinking about paying my Neighbor who owns a construction company with little back hoes, bobcats, etc to remove it. It's not like he'll have to haul his equipment from across the state. LOL

Oh, and switch panel... I didn't consider that. Maybe I can put it where @empty_lord put his scanguage

Not sure what shipping is on this guy but these are what we use at work. They're pretty heavy and replacement parts are available.

I'm gonna be the odd man out and stop encouraging him to buy another tent of pain. Noah, you're trying to move out of that house. Stop buying shit that keeps you tied down there.

Threw together. Photoshop PSD file attached if you want to spice it up. I used to do graphic design crap as part of my job 20 years ago. This is 15 minute garbage in comparison, but it works.
