It looks like they even added veins. I'm impressed.

My grandpa would bring snow in the back of his truck from wisconsin, and as soon as he left we'd carve it into a dick for a lol on the schoolbus.

I don't know who they're modeling and probably don't want to know, but whomever it is, better get that looked at by a doctor. A split scrotum is not normal.

That's why I'm thinking house brand them supplement with what else I need. That Kicker and RF kit are ridiculous.

I wish I did, but the 1/0 or 2/0 I have isn't flexible. At all. I do however, have access to a crimper and big lugs. All I need is the flexible cable. Oh, and loom. But that's cheap at the supply house too.

Well, I'll ask ya, since you've got access to the crimper, crimp me out some cables too if you do it. I'll pay you for your time, and materials.

I'm sure sparky knows this, but you guys should be able to find either 1/0 or 2/0 cables and make them cheaper yourself. It was about $70 in materials at most to crimp my own 2/0 cables.

Well, printing off pages for alternator swap revealed something y'all probably knew...
The standard 2000-2002 alternator does not have the third ear, but the towing spec does. Standard below.

Yeah, you do. I already lopped off that third ear, but if I could just find that stud, it'd be more of a bolt in upgrade. Not everyone has a grinder with a cut off wheel, and a sanding wheel.

Luckily, they’re very inexpensive at Harbor Freight. I mean, for those near Harbor Freight.

Got a pic of where it is on the truck?

Edit: I think it may be 90109-08298. Found with the oil pump, its a bolt with a stud off the end.

Interesting. My truck has the tow package. Does this mean my alternator may be different? When I look on Rock Auto at the Denso replacement it doesn't specify.

My tow hitch on my truck says Reese. Anyone know if that was that from the factory?

Did First Gens utilize the reinforced bumper as part of the tow package to mount a ball on or did they come with a real factory hitch?

I believe the hitch was integrated into the larger reinforcement since it was the hidden type as part of the tow package.

You could mount a ball on the bumper with or without the tow package, you were just limited on the tow rating due to the size of the bumper reinforcement used.

You'd have to look at your alternator to know if you've got the third stud. Your hitch is definitely aftermarket. Speaking of, I need to look at crackies hitch again.

I think the earlier trucks sometimes had it. Sometimes didn't. I knowcthere really wasn't a "towing package" in 2000, I think.

Wiring is always expensive at Crutchfield, it's one of the only things I won't buy from them.

SonicElectronix has the same kit for like $100 (35%?) less: https://www.sonicelectronix.com/item-173273-Kicker-PKD1-46PKD1.html

It's $170 on scAmazon, but who knows if you're getting legit product or not. $192 at WallyMart, but same problem there these days. Hell, even BeastBuy is cheaper.

I found the next impact I'm getting and should have gotten to begin with. DeWalt makes a small one to compete with Milwaukee's smallest. It still has 450 ft lbs breakaway torque.

Home Depot has a decent deal. For $199 you can get the tool, charger two batteries and carry bag.

I want to hold out for a deal on just the bare tool.

    https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-...-in-Impact-Wrench-Tool-Only-DCF921B/316627128

I wonder if I would regret getting a 3/8" drive. I found a good deal on that one.

That is a sweet deal. The 3/8” vs 1/2” is really all about what you have for sockets already. Mine are all 1/2”, so no thought necessary.

The 3/8 drive is what I was using when I came to Kville the first time. Makes quick work of small stuff, well hell... you know.

    Well hot damn. This sucks.

I was overdue to rip the carb off my mower and rebuild it. I've been holding off a 1-2yrs longer than I should've. After seeing genuine OEM Honda replacement was cheap enough, I decided to replace it and take the extra time to ultrasonic clean my old one and have on-hand as a good spare.

Well, I started out my morning fabbing up some tools to help reassemble the stack (GCV160, helps to have two gasket/carb guides), got my other tools laid out, started tearing into it, old carb off, then went to unbox and unbag the new carb and OOF. Choke butterfly arm is cracked, right out of the box. Hoping the parts place - Moyer, up in Doylestown in @PennSilverTaco's neck of the woods, near my Uncle's old place - is cool about returns or I'm out $35. Couldn't find anyone locally with the carb ready-to-ship. EDIT: I couldn't figure out how to get the butterfly off the arm, so swapping it over wasn't an option.

I was able to tear my old carb down, pop out and clear the jets and float, and the mower runs better after, but ... dammit man. Extra hassle I didn't need.

Hope everyone else's day is going better than mine so far. This didn't stop me from raking and shoveling the front of the house, but added way more work than I wanted.
