I gotta figure out what this means.

or, maybe, I’ll just keep eavesdropping then, when you figure it all out, I’ll just copy your set-up.

But your slip yoke at the rear trans seal is slipping properly?

    Here's a stupid question, does 2WD have a slip yoke? I don't think so.

4wds have both ends of the driveshaft solid mounted, with a slip joint in the rear part of the shaft.

2wd should slip in/out at the rear trans seal.

But i dont know for sure.

Maybe it does, it doest have a grease zerk like 4WD, but I should full droop the rear and look for drive shaft movement at the trans.

The more I think about it - I don't think mine does. I remember a video to remove the drive shaft and I think the universal joint assembly at the front is bolted to the trans shaft. I'm sure someone will tell me I'm wrong, lol.

I would think even a 2WD would still need a slip yoke but could be wrong. Snap a picture of your drive shaft where it meets the rear end.

2WD has no zerks from the factory unless u-joints have been replaced with greasable units.

No, to grease the slip yoke you have to unbolt the rear of the DS and slide the front out, and grease the inside splines. Good time to replace rear trans seal.

I think that @alb1k is smart enough to figure out a way to add a grease zerk to his driveshaft when/if he does that.

That's a bummer. I knew the U-joints were sealed but thought you could grease the shaft.

Ya, soft blow feeling on gas from a stop.

I think that yoke had to be greased when the new joints went in (I didn’t do it)

Can’t. Anyway, don’t you get it, ‘It’s not you, it’s me’. You guys have mechanical understanding well above my current capabilities. I understand a lot more than I did in 2017, but dang, by brain is using this sub-forum as constant exercise to stave off dimentia. It’s like daily algebra.

You’re a lot more knowledgeable about maintaining and repairing vehicles than any woman I know.

It must feel good going to the dealer with a vehicle and not be clueless like so many other people I see. The service person will tell you this and that are needed and most of the sheeple just stand there and nod their head figuring how am I going to pay for all this when you know most of the stuff they say is probably not needed.

I’ve learned most of what I know from Bruce, who built Hulk, and by reading this forum. And the most valuable bit of knowledge is, never take a vehicle to a dealer- Lol!

I was planning on chiming in to tell you, "looks like normal movement on a standard rubber motor mount to me", but after reading the follow-up posts I don't think that's what you were getting at.
