So what causes a popping/kinda clunking noise from the rear end while turning in reverse? Everytime I back out of the driveway it does it twice. I just greased all my driveshaft not too long ago, but may not have gotten my slip joint good enough.

I've also noticed my PS pump is starting to whine constantly, even when it's full of fluid. Awesome.

AND I've noticed when it's cold out, the steering doesnt really wanna self center that well. Add that to the ever growing list. Ugh.

Brake bleeding today. Hoping on the arrival of my new 13WL Calipers. Depending on the arrival time might tackle them. Gotta paint them black first before install. Real curious to see how the old calipers pistons operate without the pads in them.

My 2002 SR5 has the cool multi-function sun visors, were they available through 2006?

That video reminds me. I'm offering up my Katana LED's to anyone that wants to test them. I can throw them in a flat rate box for anyone that will cover shipping. If you like them, keep them. If not, pass them on to someone else that wants to test them.

I'm happier with my Sylvania halogen bulbs.

I believe those are the same bulbs as Katanas which cost $49 instead of $179.

I read a few Katanas reviews on big gurrr from LED aficionados that buy the newest things and a couple said these HR’s look and perform as the Katanas.

I do have the PerfectFits (bought first 6 months before Katanas) from HR, which are no longer available, in my Fogs and they work awesome!

A reminder that I did try to buy my head lamp bulbs from HR and they were transitioning to another warehouse during the time. I got lost in the shuffle and it was 3 weeks before I had to cancel my order. Katanas came in 2 days.

I know @FirstGenVol took his out because he did not like them due to oncoming drivers flashing him.

Never had one flasher on my end. Lights work great. Way better than a brand new Sylvania filament bulb. Great value. Will be buying more for the other hand model fleet.

Awesome! I scrolled down after typing and see you offered yours for free.

Trying to remember how that cup on the bulb is suppose to be oriented. Its either up or down.

That's what's weird, it's only in reverse. Sounds almost like something is binding up.

    DexIII for PS fluid too.

On a related side note, the ‘when in reverse squeal’, that my rear drum brakes used to make for the past 6 years, is no longer present. I’ve had two separate mechanics install 2 sets of drum shoes and both sets squealed.

Wonder how a hand model can do something proper for the first time and these knuckle draggers can’t?

I think its from the help on this site, following instructions, and attention to details. Using lube was the silencing trick here on this one. Sil-Glyde those grease points!

Gonna be a few days on the front calipers as the tracking says delivery tomorrow night.

My reverse squeal came back. It did it before I did the rear breaks, when they were full of gear oil. Then it stopped for a while after they were all replaced, now it's doing it again. I'm at a loss on that one.

Nope. Didn't have any copper grease with me. But they still didn't squeak.

But they did squeak when full of diff juice.

Mine squealed, only in reverse, from the first set of new shoes installed in 2014.

Oil on the shoes from blown seals didn’t change the sound or make it worse.

Sil-Glyde seems to be the the best stuff. Its old school and cheap and highly recco’d by old timer reviewers.

I thought the toyetc boss coils were just standard eibach 14 inch. Are they different?

How high is your front lift? I have mine set at about 1.75 and the coils feel a bit soft, no aftermarket bumpers or anything. I was thinking about getting king 700# coils to firm it up a bit (and the king blue looks really cool)

Was sitting in the truck the other day twiddling my thumbs. Decided to bust out the all-purpose tool to tighten up my sunvisor clips. Noticed that the rearview mirror has a huge amount of vertical play. Never realized this before. Snap a pic of the highest and lowest setting. Almost a 2” range.

I noticed this the other day when I went to put up the sun visor. I usually mess up the mirror bad when removing/replacing it, until recently bumped it up to its highest level. Now I can put the sun shade in the window almost without even hitting the mirror.

    Not sure.
I never measured mine, it's set to what ever they had em set to when they showed up. So I'd say 2-3 inches by my eyes. They were nice and stuff at first but it's been just over a year since I installed em. I've taken em off road once to an off road park and worked em pretty decent then. Plus now I have a front bumper, sliders, and skid plates. So they're feeling a tab bit soft now. I plan to buy a winch eventually and when I do I'll definately want the 700lb coils. I'll likely just save up for king 2.5s. the 700lb toytech coils were $250 for the pair. I'm already in what $800 for the toytec boss coilovers? At that point I should've just bought the kings from the start. Live and learn

Didn't like them eh? I'm loving my Katana LEDs. Way better visibility than the OEM halogens.
