I would have bought one from you before I had 3 sboxes myself.

I think if I buy any more vehicles it'll have to be a dedicated diesel tow rig. But fat chance I can do that and keep my spot in this family, pretty sure I get the boot. Also, don't have enough parking spaces for 1 truck, let alone the 3 I have.

I had the same assumptions, as did quite a few others. I think it's because the few youngsters that are in here, and beyond their years in auto knowledge, experience, and otherwise. Not ordinary youngsters. That includes everyone claiming to be 26 as well... i guess.

Man, when I was 26 I was just a 2nd year apprentice. I wired my 1st house by myself (my house). I think I was starting my 3rd year around that time.

Dumb. It's dumb. And it's totally aggravating when you're not both on the same page.

Kids elementary school was very science/evidence/logic based, STEAM-heavy which is probably more in my wheelhouse and aligned with your and my thinking. New middle school with the oldest is very creativity-oriented, explore-your-own-way, which is probably more aligned with your wife's thinking.

I get it. When you force a kid to decipher what's in front of them and determine the logical usage, it's a growing experience. At the same time, it's grating freaking cheese, bro! It's not like there's a vast array of methods you can use. Just don't stick your fingers or knuckles in the holes and use long passes.

I pinged them asking for an October code in their vendor area. The Oct newsletter I got on 10/6 didn't have a code or I'd give you that. Gimme a sec, I know one other place to look.

The specific points of instruction were:

    1. The stool is right here, I brought it to you once before when you were pre-slicing (he attempted to cut the brick in half cause he thought that's how mommy does it, I requested clarification b/c that seemed unusual, she only slices off a portion to grate which makes more sense). With a stool you'll have greater leverage and more strength to apply to the grate (old school grater, but he is strong enough to do it at head height, just that it's more efficient at chest height)
    2. Once done, loading the bowl with grated cheese is riskier if trying to sweep a large clump off the board at the edge of the counter. Pick up the big clumps first, then scrape the leftovers after where a little bit of miss is less catastrophic vs dumping the entire effort on the floor and feeding the dog.
    3. Don't eat with your hands while you're doing food prep since you get saliva on everything that way and it's not cool.
The scraping instruction was what got me in trouble. I saw disaster all over that one.

I distinctly remember learning the hard way not to take both of the 45 lb plates off one side in the weight room without removing at least one on the other side. That's one of those ones where if a guy had stopped me and told me what was going to happen before the bar flopped over I would have appreciated the correction.

Granted, he didn't really screw anything up. I didn't correct the mechanics of the grate in any way.

I taught myself how to cook. If someone had stepped in to help, i might be better at following or writing recipes.

Made chili this morning, nothing special, just a little of this, and a little of that.
    16006B13-BC80-4C0A-8B1F-9CE13A66FF18.jpg

started learning after highschool, and none of the chicks ive dated have been cooks. So it's been trial and error, and flavor to taste. I still have trouble with lasagna.

yeah, definitely the good depth of knowledge of some of the younger members as well as their more mature writing styles with less "text speak"

    Oh to be 26 again

Hey guys! I've been off the forum for what feels like two months, sorry for the late follow-up.

We do have a 2 acre lot right on the brow of Lookout Mountain but we are on the Ga side about 30 minutes south of Chattanooga. We started on the TN side on Lookout Mountain but that land is hi-dolla!!!

Here's a pic standing where our back deck will sit one day -

    Thanks Noah.

I was up your way last weekend. Well, I was in Lexington, not sure how far that is from you (guessing a couple of hours). The wife and I spent the weekend with my daughter; beautiful country in KY.

Well, I cracked my LCD screen Saturday on my phone. Went to use my camera, and no bueno. The crack is no where near the camera, but my phone thinks the camera is broken. What a bummer man.

Just land that we are working on with hand tools (chainsaw, weed-eater, etc.) to keep it cleaned up a bit. We did clear out a drive and a decent area toward the brow (our homesite we hope), the brow is at the top of the hill. Everything else is a mess pretty much, but we'll get there.

    Clear-ish.jpg

It's in a 1600 acre "neighborhood" that has about 40 fulltime residents and another 35 part timers. A few stocked lakes (trolling motors only), four walking trails and a cool waterfall that's a mother to hike to...

We're hopeful to build and retire up there in the next 6-7 years but need the market to help us out a little.

I have an AT&T (possibly T-Mo) compatible iPhone 6s+ that's in virtually new condition w/64GB storage if it's worthwhile, and one that's got 256GB but is moderately used with recently replaced battery if you can use either. There may be others on here with Android devices if that's your preference. I have a hard time recycling devices, one was my shop radio source for a while.

Looks awesome. Word of advice: Plant any fruit/nut trees you may want now so they get to age when you're ready to enjoy them. If you're not around for weeks at a time, pick up a couple of TreeGators to water while you're not around. Pecans? Figs? Pears? You can probably get away with apples up there, but I'd skip the stone fruits (other than cherry).

Ison's Nursery and Johnson's in Ellijay are great sources. If you need a fig tree, gimme a shout. Now is the time to plant and I've got a couple I can part with. I used to grow a LOT of varieties (several dozen) from all over the world. I've only got about a half dozen left, but the last couple need homes.

The first year we were in the house, it was a freak year for fig beetles/June bugs, it was sooooooo crazy! And kinda turned me off from trying to grow the tree further. It’s about 8-9’ tall. If I watered it more I’m sure we would see lots of fruit. I mainly water my grapefruit tree, and kinda neglected the pomegranates for the past year as well
