grandma couldnt see over grandpas tacoma hood, so i installed 1-1/4" seat jackers and made some 1" risers for the rear seat mounts.

I'm 5'8". they really added a level of comfort for the old back in my case, plus I never cared for the feels like you are going to slip forward in the seat effect.
Now negated by the seat jackers!!!

I know someone who would have bought two first gen tundras if he could afford it back in 2002. :anonymous:

But then again that same weirdo thought he was going to buy a 4-winns powerboat and have a place to keep it for use with the tundra.

Also recommend seat jackers. More relaxed comfortable seating position. Electric seats and 6’2”.

So I gave up on a motorcycle but reached a compromise and ordered something else. I take delivery next week. Here is a stock photo for now.

Anyone guess what it is? @des2mtn, no cheating.

I’ve seen a few of those out on the trails. Don’t hear them though. What’s the range on those now?

Wandered in here because of the sting. I'm in the market, but I really want a Varg. THAT won't be ready for a good minute, so considering the Sur Ron X and the Sting.

I went back and forth too but another member pushed me towards the Sting. I'm guessing you can't go wrong with either.

Do e bikes have to be registered to ride on the street?

looks like the law gets blurry around 750 watts.

These aren't technically e-bikes. They lie in a gray space that a lot of places won't register. They have too much power to be an e-bike (also no pedals) and not enough to be a motorcycle. They aren't homologated either. The lack of homologation means insuring them is almost impossible.

Matt nailed it. Most of the people that own these do ride them on the street without issue. I plan to do the same. Most cops around here either won't know what it is, or won't care. I talked to a few people that got pulled over by cops that just wanted to know where they could buy one.

I plan on sticking to the back roads. My neighborhood is huge and connects to a series of other neighborhoods where I can ride for miles. There are also trails near my house I can ride on.

Those bikes are EVERYWHERE in So Cal. Yes the laws are still all grey area. The cops don't even know whats legal or not as far as power, so they just dont stop any electric bikes, and if they did, it wouldnt be registered nor insured anyways, which leads to the biggest issue with them currently; nor do you need a drivers license. I dont know the spec'd numbers on their speeds, but I do know that the higher quality models will do 40 mph uphill. So that's where we're at now. 12, 13,14 year old kids blowing thru stop signs @ 40 mph. Only half of them wear helmets, and probably 1 out of 4 are riding doubles. Laws will change soon, as the fatalities are becoming too common to ignore. Sur Ron's are the brand dominating my area.

So my friend has a GX470 with the 4.7. He went in for an oil change and his mechanic refused to do it because he says whoever replaced the timing belt did something wrong with the tensioner and it's leaking oil. His timing belt job was done at a Toyota dealership.

Is it possible to leak oil from the timing belt tensioner? That was a new one on me. If true, I told him he should definitely be careful driving it. Might be worth towing to the dealer.

the 2021 tacoma frame i saved may pay off.

i uh... may be acquiring a 2007 tacoma rust bucket that it appears it'll fit on with minimal work.
