    On an unrelated topic...

Found a set of OEM green running boards on Craigslist. $30 with brackets. :D

Messaged the fella with the running boards.

He is located in Louisville, KY.

I asked if he could meet me halfway, and told him where I was located.

He replied, and said "wow, you live in the middle of nowhere. If you meet me halfway I'll just give them to you as I no longer need them with my new running boards."

    Sweet-ness.

So he's going to drive halfway and give them to you? That sounds too good to be true. Watch your back. He could be hoping to Joe Dirt your ass.

I'm honestly not sure what the range is but a max of 2" does seem low. Mine came from the factory at a level that gave me 2" and I can go higher if I need to. How much lift are you wanting in the front?

Hmm, I guess I was overly excited. After your post snapped me back to reality it does seem too good to be true.

I'll be cautious on this trip should it occur.

I guess 1.8-2”. Just to run 285/70/17 which I know is possible with kings because this guy (his truck in picture) has kings and 33s. Just not sure if Id what to do higher after I get uca.

Just finished up doing the front oxygen sensors on my wife's Durango, they're at least 10 times worse than the 4.7.

And the connectors aren't mounted to anything so you end up yanking on the wiring trying to unplug them because there's no room to get 2 hands in there.

Been checking out 1st gen tacomas. This might be an unpopular opinion. But our tundras are literally just 1st gen Tacoma's with a v8. Which I'm not a huge fan of. We have the same transmissions that were intended for 4 and 6 cylinders. Same t case, the driveshaft and u joints all look the same, and so does the rear end. Same spicer bearing as Tacoma's. Just a neat observation

Product sharing across the lineup is common. Take a look at GM, they swap name badges and grills and that's it, 4-6 different cars that are essentially the same thing.
The 00-02 model tundra transmission is the same, it didn't hold up well in the tundra. The 03-04 is a heavily modified version of the same transmission for use in the tundra which did better. 05-07 tundra got a clean slate design transmission.
As for the rest, some parts look the same and may even bolt up but actually have different part #'s, this is because it may have been modified in some way for that particular vehicle. Tundra is bigger than the tacoma in every way and that V8 outperforms the V6 tacoma including the real world MPG.

Tacoma holds insane value, overpriced in the used market IMO. Tundra wins all day, but hey that's just my 0.02

    Couple of observations:

    1) When you disable your DTR Lights Connector you lose the automatic lights off when the drivers door opens and key has been removed. Discovered this today while messing around.

    2) Spoke with the distributor/seeler of the Morimotos and asked specific questions. Came away confused on many fronts. Without going into a long story I’ve decided today to stick with just LED bulbs in my existing reflectors for my light source. I can’t justify the $450 expense in my mind with only 3 year ‘warranty’.

    3) I’ll be reconnecting the DTR Light Connector and plan on buying LED bulbs every 12-14 months. The newer Katanas have a different design as of recent. The price has dropped from $49 to $37. Not sure what that means for longevity but we’ll see!

It's a good motor, just as reliable as my wife adding a new project to the list simply cause she saw me sitting down. That never fails

The V8 gets better mpg real world unless your left foot is planted on the front bumper

I have been seriously considering returning to HID bulds, I have had less issues using them than LED's
