oh, interesting. I recall it being under the bed on my '02 Tacoma. just assumed Toyota would keep things ... similar.

From the connector on down is one piece. Its about $22 at the Stealer online. I cleaned the old one up in this pic and made it look shiny copper fresh, but no pic sadly. Not sure about whats happening below the ceramic block level, but no way to clean it up. I’ve noticed my blower is not as powerful as it used to be a low speeds which is a symptom of older resistors per the article I read today.

    edit: Connector looks good.

Interesting. I've noticed my blower has not been as powerful also. I figured I would investigate later on. Good to know:thumbsup:

My blower motor has been making more noise lately. I've cleaned as best I can. Might be dying.

I tried to create a gif of two images. Evidently it did not work.

I turned mine upside down a put a few drops of pneumatic oil down the hatch opening near the shaft. Been working nice and quiet compared to before. I had lots of gunkies all up in there, too.

In the 4runner world, I always read that guys would replace their blowers with one from a land cruiser, supposedly more robust and stronger motor. Not sure if it’s the same size or would cross over to our trucks

I’ll check and cross reference. I always remember my blower at lower speeds being much stronger, but could be mistaken. I’ve got the heavy duty heater package which absolutely cooks in the winter. Just looking for the lower fan speeds to have some more push which is a resistor fix I hope. Should help in AC Mode having the air moving better.

Looks different and costs $160 vs. $65. No brainer and stick with the original thats lasted 20 years.

Test drove my buddys 05 tundra. My golly, that thing barely ever has to rev past 2,000 rpms when driving around town. That 5 speed is something else. With my 01 i can keep it just under 2100 if manipulating the throttle for it to shift at the right time. Just an interesting thing i noticed

Judging by the rudimentary picture drawing it looks like a different shaped unit. The part numbers don’t match, either. Survey says! Fuggetaboutit.

I'm sorry guys but I'm still amazed at some of the vehicles that are up for sale right now.

    This is the LX470

01 was the last year for the taco under hood. I think 02 was last year on tundra, may be wrong. But even then the tundras is way easier to remove under the bed than the taco.

Here in South Florida finding these well kept low mileage luxury vehicles is common. We have a lot of foreign money that have vacation homes and then there's the abundance of wealthy seniors

unrelated. that's just water vapor. Be sure the drip hole on your muffler is clear & not rusted closed. Ever see a car race off from the light & water pours out the tail pipe?

Yes, I have. I'll be sure to look at that.

On a non-emissions note, I noticed something today.

Went out to admire the new smart tap flasher, and discovered that my left turn signal works intermittently. Relay still clicks which leads me to think its a wiring issue after the relay.

I wiggled the wires to the plug for the turn relay, and the left flasher would come on and off with a certain wiggle. NG.

    One shit storm after another.

Anyone have a pinout for that plug?
