I think blood tests are part of the requirement and it is about figuring out the likelihood of genetic anomalies that would occur as a result of… marital relations between the cousins wishing to marry. If I had time to spare, I’d research, because now I’m vaguely curious… but I don’t have time to spare or a particularly attractive cousin I’m considering, so it probably won’t happen.
