And, while not quoting your post, no fucking way I was trying to paddle out in that. Last time I tried I was in better shape and it was a shit show, not getting out, getting up. The kid brings two boards everywhere. Especially if it's a drive, then maybe three. I did find the sign at the railroad tracks, we were on the SD side. Crowd wasn't bad, photographers were minimal or just me. I'm sure they were at Lowers. I also think they day before sent some to late wake-ups.

Sadly, that's not a star headliner. They're using pushpins to hold the headliner up because they probably used shitty adhesive when going over it with black headliner material, not the right stuff like 3M's super adhesive, or they didn't properly spray the headliner board and headliner material separately, then let sit for 5-10min to setup before sticking both together.

It's worth noting, the material on the door inserts appears to be the same headliner material, unless I'm crazy. The dumbest part is the condition of the rest of the interior - why you choose to focus on those specific parts when the rest of the interior is in such shit shape is beyond me.

This whole thing is a dumpster fire IMHO.

So the little green things up high were not powered lights? Probably not. The finger indentations were evident in that monstrosity.

I may be wrong, but I thought they were pushpins holding the headliner up. And it looks like jizz spots all over, but I presume that's the headliner glue they used.

It's entirely possible they didn't even use headliner material. Proper headliner material comes with foam substrate, it's pre-glued. Whatever they used looks like it could've just been straight black fabric, and they glue to the old headliner? Who knows. It's just a hot mess.

EDIT: I didn't have any 'zoomers' on when I looked at things earlier. Now they definitely look like little blue or blue-green sparkles. Who knows wtf is up with that?!

If you’re able to grab me the dash and maybe airbags if they are single stage, I’d pay for it. Hard to tell what color that stuff is.

The top piece around pass airbag and lower driver and passenger pieces too if nice. But mostly that top piece cause I can’t get the glue off.

You guys were at upper trestles. Well shit man, you weren't far at all from San-O state beach and there's a perfect surf spot there for ya. You familiar at all with......uh..... Oldman's?:boink::rofl: Always know when theres a good swell cuz my FB feed is full of clips and stills of it.

Now slow down a gawt damn minute here. First of all, I'll admit I didn't click to see the interior. I can tell you this tho; most interior can be successfully neglected. When a headliner starts to come down, it gets immediate attention, don't matter who ya are. Shit could get dangerous real quick. That being said, I wrapped my headliner in fabric and it's got a medium sized box of thumbtacks keeping it there. :anonymous:so what

Oh, I think we've all been there and done that. :D

I've definitely had a couple of headliners drop. I had a mid-80's GrandAm when I was a teenager, that car ... not only did it make me miss seeing Nirvana a few months before Cobain died, but I probably redid the headliner at least 3-4 times before I figured out the right way.

More than anything, it takes at least some level of tools, basic mechanical knowledge, and most importantly, the time/willingness/confidence to turn a wrench on your own stuff.

I'd argue that the most savings come from doing the small routine stuff, brakes, fluid changes, filters and belts. Even if you just do that and take the big-big jobs in to a trusted mechanic, you're light years ahead of most.

I doubt they’re there. They’re suppose to get back to me Tuesday about parts. But he did say $350 for seats. So pricing seems good. I may grab a lot of parts if they’re there

I know you don’t have to be old to enjoy Oldmans. It’s like a family friendly party down there. It actually does have a really fun longboard wave as a bonus.
thumbtacks aren’t the right way? Haha. Yeah eventually I’ll buy a whole new headliner piece with fabric. Thinkin back, I don’t think my liner had even started coming down. The reason I covered it was because it had caught fire when I was welding the roof for a repair. Haha. So anyways, a $4 tan fleece blanket, a can of guerrilla glue spray adhesive, and a pack of thumbtacks and it hasn’t bother me a bit since. It’s not terrible. @des2mtn I think I remember you having a special headliner as well, right?

Yep, I did a very similar thing as you with tacks and fabric and it's held up very well. Also put in some LED strips for lighting. Got sick of the original headliner color and wanted a different look without hunting for a black one from a part out. Everyone that sees it in person tends to like it.
