The one thing I can say about my first gen that I can't say about the 2.0 or 2.5 gen is that I can lean against my truck without worrying I'm going to cause a dent. :D

Correct. Because nobody is surprised by dents in a 20 year old truck. :p

I've not dented my truck leaning on it. Has this been an issue for people?

Well, I don't have a 1GT so that's about all I can offer... Unless of course you want to hear about my 5.7?

Right? Here's an issue you'll never have in a stock 1st Gen. This is how obnoxious almost every truck made after 2010 suffers with.

My favorite thing about the 3rd gen Tundra? Glad you asked!

The release of the actual 3rd gen Tundra means people will stop calling the 2.5 gen a @#$g 3rd gen!

Oh, it's not generational. As previously discussed, most people suck. Angels and assholes in all walks of life with age, sex, occupation, religion, race, or any other categorization having a bearing on it. People are people.

If Toyota re-released the first-gen with same body lines and size, kept the same engine and seats but upgraded the stereo and instrument clusters adding USB 3, I’d by it!

No if it means you need to pick body parts out of your grill and radiator. Not all of that just hoses off.

Hell yeah. What would we call it? They should call it "Plateau" or something. Or maybe the Serrano because it'd be hot. Although don't most Toyota names ending in vowels end with an A?

I came across a 3rd gen thread titled something about "another recall". Nothing major.

2nd post was, "oh great, here they come". and then something like:

    "more ammunition for the haters"
    "2nd gens had more recalls"
"they are jealous and have -$3.05 in their bank account"

I didn't see one earlier gen post in there with a comment at the time. They are pre-conditioned already and went defensive against no present enemy.

    Mission accomplished.

It's the weirdest thing, ever since I bought my 1st Gen, paying a few thousand in cash with a solid trade-in, my bank account has since quadrupled (maybe sextupled, actually) from what it was 5 minutes before I bought it. It's almost like having a paid, older vehicle, with lower insurance, and no car payment is, like, a good way to NOT have -$3.05 in the bank.

I'll never understand that mentality; What a moronic thing to say to justify a purchase so you can fulfill your urge to show off.
