I almost bought one similar to that. Didnt want to pay for the price of two of these though. It suits my needs at the moment.

Looks like the same thing thats happening to my passenger side headlight. One side of the low beam diode is dead. My High Beams work fine, though.

Hmm, curious how long a VLEDS product would last. These are 4 years old.

They have a sale going on until the end of June? July?

I’m not a “wire weasel”(haha never herd that one) or a pipe pounder, but the trade I chose is heavy in electrical and trouble shooting. In tech school I took extra wiring classes(resi and commercial wiring practices) and I’m glad I did. I always had to hold the sparkies hand wiring freezer time clocks; mainly because a terminal was labeled N; haha they would always put a white wire on it even though that was one side of line.
The sparkies where I work now are kinda a joke, but they are ok, our lead tries to do their work, but I let them earn their keep.

    Last job for today...

Drilled a hole, and intsalled a 10 mm stainless steel bolt/washer/nylock nut.

The rear of the passengers side fender by the wheel well has been loose for sometime. When I hit the rumble strip just right, or bump into it it would squeak.

    No longer!

Welding doesn't count my Canadian friend. :D

Damn, I'd take that over 98 and 35% anyday. I cant/don't want to do anything outside. I'm gonna but a tent thing like @Tundra2 soon.

Pffff. Rookies. I've wired cooler timers. T-stats. Any low volt is mine at this company. The last fire station we wired had low volt for the lighting controls so they called me in to wire it. Now were doing another fire station and I've been on it from the ground up. Finally! I love commercial work. I HATE residential and residential service. I'm ok with commercial service. But yeah, controls is my specialty. I wanna learn more about it and would love to do some PLCs or MCCs. I actually did all the wiring for the HVAC at a little hospital in friona. 3 50 ton units. 50 ton? I dunno. They were big enough to walk in.

I think you shouldn't skimp on attention in the wheel wells / arches with all you're doing. how hard to get those splash shields off?

paint up around the wheel wells really well if you can. they rot out like fords and dodges in the arches. the fender liners are not liners, theyre part of the bed.

Okay, admittedly I'm having a brain fart. I ate light breakfast today around 5 pm so I'm kinda loopy.

You mean inside the fender between the bed, yes?

probably pond full of Water Moccasins . If I can't see the bottom - I'm out.

put my lawn mower in the Tundra today, went & cut the folks lawn, a/c's in the windows... back home. no excitment, just drove it with the back windowlet open. i really need to upgrade to a 4door with magic 5th window.

your truck is family. You've a reason to put energy into her.

I just bought a cheap Tundra to see if I liked the size. I hate access cab's in theory, but bought one because it was cheap enough to try living with one. In my life, I'm daily hating those access doors & I really want that back window - so I just can't bring myself to put any energy into the truck. Which is a shame, new frame, really clean for a New England truck, paid to get all the hard lines replaced underneath, fixed the pumpkin... But I just can't bring myself to commit to this truck.

Yes, my truck REALLY IS FAMILY as you said.

I learned to drive in this truck, drove to the 2 high school proms I attended in this truck, have commuted to ALL my jobs legitimate or not in this truck, broke this truck in right several times :D which was a feat...

This truck was sold locally originally, and is driven locally...

I could go on, and fill probably a few paragraphs... but I'll stop here with the highlights.

Man, that is a shame. Maybe someone here will inquire about purchasing it when the time comes.

For instance, my little brother is 16. He has said he wants a tundra...(he wants a 2nd gen, but perhaps he could be persuaded.)

@empty_lord paint in the pink/purple areas? Where the splash guard meets the fender?

What can I do about the faded liner in blue?

The blue, undercoating (flex seal actually is pretty close to the texture of oe liner stuff) the purple area and up above the liners too. If you can reach up there. It’s not easy

Tell him you only work on 1st gens. :)
As I was driving home tonight I was telling myself I was going to post an ad up here to sell the truck.
Then I got lost in all your posts & started talking to a potential buyer for the hot rod...
