When I fitted 12" shocks, the compressed distance was the concern, so they don't become bump stops. When you lift the truck, that doesn't do anything to the distance of the leaf's to the actual bump stops on full compression. Unless your lift means you can no longer compress that much, which would be odd. So, without relocating shock mounts, a bigger shock body could be a problem.

A problem that could be solved with higher bump stops...

It should be fine so long as you don't use the shock as your bottom bump stop. It will be 15" fully compressed vs. 13", but what's a couple of inches between friends??

Of course the bumps would need to be changed to accommodate, I was asking about the stock mounts

Oh, well, IDK then. Seems like that would fit, but can't say other than those stems and lower bushings should be the same size.

    Add more caster.

Our low stock caster # is why steering feel is numb.

Yes I have, but not the unsynchronized manual transmission and 2 speed rear end. That seems like a PIA unless you’re very good at doing it manually.

You learn to double clutch, when to use the throttle and to carefully feel gears engage. Brought many a load of corn from the fields to the grain bins in a 1948 International single axle dump.

On the subject of double-clutching, I still have much to learn. My bro in law desires his Freightliner 10spd driven without using the left foot except to start. The rev limiter is 1700 rpm though so there isn't a ton of range like there is on these light duty pickup trucks.

The most interesting/challenging experience I had with that was one haul when his clutch brake was toast. So, you could only get into gear with the engine off after it spun down. If you forgot and left it in neutral with the engine running and came to a complete stop, you had to grind or stop and restart. We got rather adept at finding parking spots on a hill so we could roll start. Didn't seem to phase him one bit, I found it a bit of an extra challenge.

I kinda wish I had more practice with double clutching b/c you have to be quick, the thing spins down if you're slow. I mean, I guess I got more practice in general b/c I feel like the more you drive those things, the more it starts to feel intuitive.

I'm new in my town, so have to depend on references. When I ask for something like a welder people will tell me I have to go to so & so his welding is so (right image), I go & see so & so's work & it's left image at best. You've got better referrals. If you ever run out of cash - sell your little black book of tradesmen!

This winter I’ll probably extend my pipes past my bumper. Shits noisy! I’d love
To do some cut outs in my bumper, but not sure how clean I can make that happen

Eh not so much, I mean yes…… but no.
It’s kind weird, it’s almost less obnoxious on the freeway just cruising, the in city up and down Rpms gets old sometimes……… I’ll definitely goose it for other “cool” Toyotas, this sweet taco got the fumes on the way home from a side job on the east side

It is great, I’ve even seen some second gens misposting in the 3rd gen section, I always assumed they were just trying to piss us off. Clearly it’s a serious disease
