1st Gen. Lunch Table - General Discussion

My friend I talked about ended up getting a single cab 2.4 tacoma. Got new tires and some 90s jeep wheels today.

 

Son of a bitch my rear leafs squeak like my bed at 12 am. Gotta figure a fix out. That isn’t grease.

 

My back right leaf squeak but I cant hear it unless my back windows are open

 

Back left on my squeaks. And man is it loud. No clue why it started to do it months after the AAL install. Oh well.

 

Let me verify I read everything correctly on the info dump page.

Everything is 125 ft. Lbs, except for the axle braket/ U-bolt.

 

The reason I was asking, and verifing is because my torque wrench clicked at 64 when I verified it worked on the axle shock mount.

Didn't click at 125.

Excercised it up incrementally to 125.

All good now.

 

Leafs are torqued to spec. Starting axle brackets.

 

I'm make sparks with electricity. I don't know much about the stuff though. I turn dials until the metal melts how I want it then commence spark creation and metallurgical fusion.

Oh, torquing them down?

Honestly, it just worked out with me being laid off.

If I was not laid off I would have NEVER taken the bed off because I would think...

"Oh shit, I have to go to work Monday."

 

Hey, leafs are in. Everything is torqued to spec.

Turned the truck over, and let her warm up.

Disengaged parking brake, and put in drive.

Truck no go...

 

Okay, so now that I've had time to think about everything that just happened.

Disengaged parking brake. Put in drive.

Gave her just a little gas, and she went NO WHERE.

Got out, and investigated to see if either parking brake lever seized. While I'm looking around the passengers side wheel/axle PINGS and moves forward ½"inch.

Now I'm Flippin out.

I'm currently uploading a video to YouTube of everything because I was gling to do that, and celebrate with all of you!

 

I should add...

When removing OEM passengers side leaf that side of the axle moved forward about ¼-½ inch.

Installed new leaf, and then braced my back against wheel, and pushed wheel back to insert the static leaf hanger bolt.

 

Sounds like a stuck parking brake?

 

Okay.
So far, heres where im at.

Put the truck in neutral, and went to bumper support.

Tugged back, and forth. I have reason to believe that the dribers side parking brake is seized.

Truck is free now. Worked parking brake levers by hand.

Engaged, and disengaged.

Even gave it the ol’ sunglasses up flip.

 

I've worn a path in the grass doing exactly that. Sunglasses and all.

Gotta pull up the drawers and give them a good swirl after the up flip.

Then I'm starting on the new front struts AFTER everything else is done.

 

Get'er done. I'm definitely going to need that jacket. We have a roof leak so I will be working on that this week and most likely going to do a gayco coating on the whole roof.

Did I mention 90+ degrees and 100000000000000% humidity?

im changing out a evaporator on my neighbors AC on Monday, not looking forward to that, but I’ll toss up a boss pop up like @Tundra2 has been doing. It’s the soccer mom edition so it has sides to enclose it completely/block more sun
