I stopped celebrating birthdays before I completed my teen years. I complain when people opt to disregard my desire not to celebrate, honestly.
Tactically speaking, it would've probably been the PRO place to be.

I gave up birthday celebrating a long time ago. But I do try to remember to send Mom flowers on my birthday, 'cause you know - she did all the work.

Hmm. Interesting train of thought here giving up the one thing NO ONE CAN TAKE FROM YOU….your birthday. I’m always happy to have lived another year without dying from something(s) stupid I’ve done and look forward to making new memories for the next year round.
i don’t need a cake (but if you’re gonna make one I’d like German choc please), candles or a song but I like the get together and since it’s for my birthday I will know everyone and not be a loner at the party!

I like the shit outta this post, but I don’t see an option for that. (especially the German choco cake preference)

I guess celebrating is subjective, or just takes different forms. I didn't actually give up celebrating, I mis-spoke there. I should have said I don't expect anything or want much. A kiss from my wife and a nice word from my kids - I'm better than great.

I'm not sure I did talk about it. It wasn't brutal other than I could have got the take-aways in 15 minutes. The 9 hours was a bit much. A lot of conflict resolution, and a fair amount of effective communication. Ironic, because the whole room had lost the effective part by noon. But, it did remind me to listen better (in the 15 minute part, lol)

Got tired of spiderwebs I couldn't reach. Pond skimmer to the rescue. It's horribly humid today and hasn't rained in almost a month. Grass is going dormant sadly.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

That tire swing is so old that the tree has eaten the chain that holds it up :). I'll be happy when it finally falls.

Yup, I had the tree cut down that my neighbor had a swing hanging from. sorry neighbor but way too much dead up there. Doesn't look like you've got any neighbor issue.
So any new favorite drink from Ibiza?
