Well I may not want to hear the answer to this but does the upper ball joint mount on the spindle look bent to anyone. Don't have another first gen to compare to at the moment and other side looks about the same. Looks like it's bent down a bit but I haven't paid much attention to it previously. Bilstein 5100's on 3rd notch with trd springs. Bump stop spacers installed as well.

Good call on the #700, Imo. I can imagine #750 in my future. Ridgeline - others look away.

The overload leafs I have are 19mm thick, and as best as I can measure the 3 added leafs are 21mm, but the pin in the leaf with extra leafs seems to have more threads showing than the stock leafs.

my buddy has the OV tune developer access.. soo tomorrow i'll be getting my calibration ID and hes going to tell me if its worth it or not to buy the tune stuff right now

OV tunner apparently has a wonderful track record where only one calibration ID has all the stuff available to it while every other one cant really be messed with.

Looks like maybe a tad? I feel like mine are a very square 90 degrees. Have you ever:
    1. jacked up the truck, block rear tires
    2. stands on the frame rails
    3. pull the front tire
    4. Pull the sway bar
    5. pull the coilover, (put the tire back on if that ever rubs or just to see full stuff)
    6. use your jack to raise the hubs as far as you can (jack the LCA near the wheel - basically under the lower ball joint) - so the lower control arms are on the bump stops and you are about to lift the truck higher than it sits on the jack stands.
    7. Measure the shock tower to the center of the bottom shock mount
    8. compare that distance to the shock compressed distance.
    9. If the distance from top hat to center of bottom shock mount is less than shock compressed length - the shock is essentially the bump stop. In that case - the weight of the truck on full compression is transferring to the fully compressed shock, and the spindle.

Probably not, I would only do or test it in the quest to regain some droop and center my shock travel at ride height. But we are talking about +/- 1/2" I think at the shaft. That's out of 4", so it's not nothing.

We have the same set-up, except I do have the added wheelbase of a DC and the winch. And sliders about to go on. I have my extended King COs pre loaded pretty far compared to when I installed them originally, before the added weight. I don't find my truck stiff, but some people might say the ride sucks. However, loaded up and aired down off road, the thing is very smooth. I'm also a fan of E- rated, so it gives you a sense of my idea of a good ride.

I definently have not but it sounds like a good way to figure it out.
How would I determine the shock fully compressed distance?

Mine are listed by the manufacturer. But I did this anyway: With the shock off the truck it is at full extension. Measure from the top of the shock where it contacts the shock tower when installed - to the center of the lower eyelet. Subtract the length of the visible shock shaft.

If I had a pit crew and money to burn, I would tell them - "Put the #600's on - we are traveling light and driving up the coast." "Put the #700s on and the 5-point belts, we are going to see how fast we can go in the desert." lol.

Haha - yes! Or long travel with some slick DSC reservoirs. But, this talk has me realizing it's time to measure again where my shocks are sitting at ride height so I'm close to sure of the available up and down travel. I have a bit of the up travel cut off, so I can only get close enough for government work.

forgot if I’ve asked, did you tune the ride height on your kings? Or a shop? Or leave em where they were set from the factory?

They are factory set. So much has changed on that truck in the last year, A tune might have been out of tune by now. Not that I was thinking of that at the time. I got the Kings because the supply chains were going to hell and that's what was available. Turns out, that was a great turn of events. But, when it's time to rebuild, I might do that, or get some adjustable ones or Fox adjusters.. I don't know what I'm missing without a custom tune, maybe a lot but I'm happy with them.

I can’t leave things alone. When I got each of the buells home, I spent a couple days making em ‘fit’ my style. Tweak setting, ride, repeat.

like a 1/2” spacer would do it. At full droop.

Doesn’t mean anything. Doesn’t account for # of each of these on the road. Needs to be a “% of” kinda chart to be informative on vehicle safety.

I hate to be the guy who's, like, "get what you deserve" but I really, really, really think there's a burning pit in hell for thieves and if you die in the commission of felony theft or attempted felony theft, I really DGAF.

That happened in Oceanside. Here's the story from 3 days ago.
