Literally was the 1st thing that popped into my mind when reading his comment, seriously. Stemmed off a conversation with our 11yo as she headed out the door for some summer camp activity this AM, before I hopped on the forum.

I'm not one to complain about all the fun new labels the younger crowd uses nowadays, because most of them don't complain about me fumbling, trying to get it all right. I'd be lying if I said that little voice inside of me doesn't roll its eyes, like, "really?!" fairly often, though.

The way I was as a teenager, all hyper-meticulous about musical genres, seems the current generations are that way about categorizing themselves and their preferences. Good on 'em. One kid wants to be Neo-Classical Symphonic Metal, the other Crossover Thrash Metal. Cool, cool, you're all metal, that's all that matters to me. :D

Agreed. I carry an analog torque wrench on long trips, far from home. I wanted another with greater torque range (including lower than 50#), and the one with great ratings I could afford is digital. Kind of a bummer…. I later realized that anything needing less than 50# also needs a shorter bar— so I have yet to use the digital. ;) So I still run to see my neighbor when I need little torque; he’s retired and likes getting called to duty.

I personally wouldn't go out of my way just for Corral Canyon again. It is almost two hours from my neck of the woods and the desert and pines are closer.

Last time I was out in that area in the truck though, I did do the nearby Bear Valley loop and Pine Creek up to Mount Laguna, both of those are just fire roads really.

I'm a big fan of the Potrero campground out there by the border though. Not a wheeling destination, but a nice secluded area in the oaks. https://goo.gl/maps/LnpLxKqkZzq2Poae8

Still alive. This place is amazing. We saw David Guetta play last night and he killed it.

Is that Gibraltar in the 1st pic?

I see you're having fun, and don't want to spoil that, and I'm sure you guys prepared, and who knows if it'll be the same for you as us ... but they wouldn't let us leave Portugal, and apparently planned not to let us back into the US without a valid peer-tested negative C19 test less than 48 hours old.

We were told about this before leaving and skeptical whether it was true or not. Knowing we had the kids at home to get back to and couldn't afford any hiccups, we spent the $35/kit on this BinaxNow kit you complete via webcam with a guide/monitor because paying $100/ea in Portugal for tests wasn't financially sensible.

I'm glad we did. Portugal wouldn't let us enter the terminal without that test. We connected through Amsterdam, and when landing at ATL, they pulled every 3rd or 4th person as we were exiting the boarding gate for random C19 docs (or testing if you had none), and the customs agent stamping our passport asked for proof also, but may've been random.

I didn't stick around long enough to see what happened if you couldn't produce any test results, but they called officers over to escort people away from the passport line at least half a dozen times in the few minutes we were waiting to pass through.

Anyway, I'm sure you prepared, and if not, hope you and your people don't have any issues!

USA just dropped all COVID testing requirement to enter. You are free to resume roaming around the planet.

Cool! We'd heard the mandate drop was coming, hence the "not sure it'll be the same for you as us..."

We weren't sure if it'd happen before we came back (June 7th) and were warned to carry the tests and take them just in case.

That was exactly one week ago, though. A lot changes in 7 days. Either way, we eventually need to get FGV back, so thought worthwhile to toss it out there...

Portugal was possibly being anal-retentive during our departure because of policies they knew about w/Amsterdam or w/US. Not sure.

No. That's the other end of Spain. We're on the island of Ibiza. The little island in that picture is called Es Vedra. Tomorrow we fly to Barcelona for a few days before coming home.

That was a huge concern. We just had some friends get stuck in Scotland for 10 days because they tested positive and couldn't fly back. We already had COVID tests booked in Barcelona we need to cancel. Really lucky timing for us that they lifted that mandate. We know some other people that tested positive in the Dominican and they were able to pay the woman that tested them $40 USD for a negative tests. :monocle:. It was probably a scam.

For some reason I thought the Balearic islands were closer to the strait. Huh. Gibraltar is also land-attached.

Yup, happened to our daughter's friend's dad and sister, stuck in Mexico for 6 extra days.
Our friend JT got stuck in Ireland without his wife and son last week of May.
Eight of my wife's coworkers flew to meet her in Miami for a business pitch, company had to pay for 2 to stay an extra week after testing positive.

It's legitimately the only reason I bring it up.

Yup, same with my boss when he flew here in February. I booked for him to do a drive-thru test the day before he left home for Switzerland. They closed the test center because of tornados near the GA/AL border, an hour west.

We scrambled to find another free place. Only place we found was in a former bank property that was previously abandoned for at least 2 years. Vinyl signage hanging in front.

Walked in the door, he gave his CC and personal info, they charged him $100, walked him over to a room to get swabbed, and by the time he walked the 50ft back to the lobby where I was, the girl behind the counter was printing out his negative result.

Complete horseshit. Wouldn't doubt if the company was probably double-dipping by back-billing the fed for the testing service, too.

The stupid part about the guided webcam tests we took is they have you train the webcam on the test kit, sitting on a flat surface, but they didn't make me adjust the camera onto my face while swabbing. I couldn't swabbed my ass, honestly, or swabbed someone else's nose...

What kills me most about these flat-earthers is how easy it would be to disprove it. Just charter a damn plane on the exact same bearing and you'll find out within two to three days when you arrive right back in the same damn place, it's round. This and the belief in lizard people running the planet absolutely kill me.

On the topic of MR2 and older Toyota sports cars, @empty_lord someone posted this ~50k mile Supra on my local CL, and someone is parting out six MR2 Turbo in Toledo OH.

Pics because because. Supra shows kilometers on the clock so I assume it's from our brothers in Canuckistan.
