Well, my uncle does. I'm still a broke ass trailerhood mfer. We're going out to a fancy(for the lake) steakhouse tomorrow. This shit out here is crazy. He was telling me about the bills just for the boats, upkeep, and insurance are like $10k a month for the lake house. Mo money mo problems and all but fuck! That's ridiculous!

Only thing better than owning a lake house. Having a friend (or rich uncle) with a lake house!

Looks Cali-esque. Mountains on the horizon and palm trees.

Hawaii, my dad bought it new. I have dibs on it. Though technically he sold to his gf. But I will exert dominance.

MV == Market Value. Perhaps $5k ish?

Duh, you said you were interested in your dads RAV4 in Hawaii. Markets been crazy. Could be $5k could be $10k with low miles.

The only RAV4’s I see listed in that year model and mileage are around $10k, but they are 4wd. So maybe $7-8k?

Thanks! Needs a little work, headlights, backup camera, power door locks don’t work for the driver door only. But pretty slick mechanically.

@FrenchToasty my uncle says his garage fridge isn't cooling right. With no tools what can I check and maybe fix it?

Yeah, it's a perfect Hawaii car. I just need to ensure it is not given away like the '03 PreRunner my dad sold to his gf's brother who then resold for profit. Hopefully they learned their lesson with that one. And I think the value might actually creep upwards with time so if I lock in price now that might be in my favor long term.

Hoping I may be able to retire here, just planning 20 years in advance b/c that's a fun and stupid thing to do, yeah?

    44 is definitely no bueno!
Does he have cats? Does he have a air compressor? The bottom grill should open or maybe you can look from behind and see if the condenser is clogged with a bunch of cat hair or whatever else. You can blow it out gently to free some air flow.
Next check inside the cabinet and see what temp it’s set at, if it’s maxed out, the coil might be frozen because the door got left open. Or look at the inside coil if it’s frozen, needs to be thawed out over night if it is and then let it run

0 cats out here. I will see if I can round up a screwdriver and pull the cover. I was guessing clogged coils from the get go.

Check the inside coils by opening the doors and holding the door switch, make sure there is air flow or the coils inside are clear too.

Not FT, but I'll throw in a couple cents.

The closed coolant systems on refrigerators are sealed tight, so coolant system failure/depletion almost never happens. Wild majority of the time mine or a friend's fridge died over my decades on the planet, it was one of the following conditions:

Insufficient cooling, cold but not cold enough: Something clogged with dust, filter or coils. Evap/blower/fan motor or bearing is dying and can't spin at necessary RPM to circulate air. Someone dicked with the knobs/buttons. Door wasn't sealing or left cracked and froze unit up. When we remodeled in 2009, our cabinet installer didn't allow for sufficient airflow around our fridge and it wasn't getting enough ventilation.

Zero cooling, fridge at room temp: Compressor relay shot ($10-30), compressor is clicking but never turns on. Evap/blower/fan motor fail ($30-50), blower fan isn't turning on, so no cool air gets circulated.

I'd pop off any vent panels and vacuum or rinse front and rear to start. You'll know right away if that's the issue. If no joy, If you'll grab the model number from the sticker inside the unit, I can grab an exploded diagram for it so you'll know where to look for the fan(s).

Door fan switches can be pesky and cause the inside fan not to come on and freeze the coil

Sometimes the coils/internal drain freezes solid and it shuts down. The fix is usually to unplug it a wait a couple of days until it all melts.

I'm skeptical, only because it looks like this Amarillo case is showing a video/CCTV snapshot, yet somehow there's zero video footage that's been released.
