Ha, I went to catch up because I realized I missed something. Page back - nope, page back - nope, page back - WTH? Lol.

I thought about challenges for a bit. I have no idea what they've done over there. That unknown image one seemed unlikely as a repeat and pretty obtainable, or voyer-ish at least which can be weird/cool.

Those are one position. Probably not gonna get you there for max caster.

I've aligned race cars which had kits with holes drilled in 3-4 different sets of plates that would give 5-8 working positions (center, slightly offset and max offset). You'd just flip the offset plates around for inside or outside.

Doesn't look terrible, except for the slightly positive camber. He could have loosened the SPC upper and corrected that.

They have the sameish kinda challenge on the motorcycle forum I creep on. You have to take a picture of ______ with your motorcycle in front of it. Whoever posts it first gets to pic the next challenge. They also did a scavenger hunt type challenge where it was like 7 easy challenges in 1.

Seems this would be more stout if the verticals were inside the boxed area. Would help reduce potential torsion of the verticals, which would put less strain/wear and reduce possible fatigue on your very-stout hardware.

I *like* positive camber and make maxing it, the primary alignment goal. :anonymous:

It looks like the base plate of the brackets is slotted, allowing for some inward/outward movement; maybe would potentially allow for it?

I spent 14 hours driving 800 miles yesterday. My old bones are unhappy today. Boston home to Erie, then to Cleveland to pick up my car, and back to Erie.

Hooray for cancelled flights, now I get to call and try to get everything straightened out and refunds for additional expenses.

@alb1k i seldom check TW but I did it this morning to catch up on your reception. Super entertaining!

Really, they were pretty nice to you. I figured they’d have noticed how few posts you have, and got out the pitchforks straightaway.

I agree. I have to move or cut relief for the top bolts that hold the rack to the load bars so I can adjust the legs wider. It’s on the list

    Overdrive On or Off?

I recall seeing a discussion somewhere on this but I'm curious...do you recommend Overdrive on or off when driving:

    Highway ?
    City ?
    Towing ?

I was always taught OD off while towing, although it can be OK to leave on if no hills. I can't imagine how realistic asking about city is, chances are you won't kick into OD anyway. I think you'll always get better mileage at hwy speeds if you can kick into OD if there's no significant load to pull. So I guess I'd break down your Q as:

Highway : ON if no significant load
City : ON though it probably doesn't matter
Towing : OFF if hills, can be ON if flatland.

Some of these threads pertain to towing, but @tvpierce has some good insight into O/D and the torque converter.

That's what I saw. Thanks for that. No many hills here in South Florida but we do have some tall bridges/overpasses.

Yes. Non-sunroof is 27mm (same as later gen tundra) and sunroof is 28mm.

I'm running the 28mm on my AC.

    They plates are reversible.

    Features:
    • All in one, 3 way adjustable (-,0,+) 1/4" steel eccentric plates

Also, the idea is to use them with the solo LCA which adds a few degrees of caster and the SPC which would be used for fine tuning the alignment.

Turns out with some persuasion the risers went in there. I did do my bolt throughs first, so was able to apply some torque to get them in.
