Ive pulled quite a few hooks out of people but idk that id wanna fuck with that one....

For the record though, the Pull on string around hook bend while pressing down on hook eye is THE method to use when you are daring enough to give it a go.

That mushroom though @shifty` is awesome and im jealous. Our relocation takes us out of Chantrel territory but we are supposed to be more into Oysters and Truffles on this side of the state. Feels like I need a truffle pig....

I’ve had decent amount of training in BSA, but man o man, two falls ago I tried to get one out of my buddies finger on the lake……. I got all light headed and almost passed out! It was a treble hook and we cut it way to close to the curve so there was no leverage or the proper angle to get it to push back thru the super tough nuckle skin

Well first time I paid a whole Benjamin to ALMOST fill up today. Got about 21 gallons of the 25/26 gal tank filled.

Never thought that would happen in my lifetime.

Thank fuck I fixed the virus... a full tank in that (13G, but usually fill up around 10G) is about $50...

Damn. Worked a lot of ER. You gotta block that whole finger with marcaine. Cut the eye off. Then push the hook the rest of the way through that nail. It won’t come back out the way it went in.

You’ll have to lift the flesh in front of the barb as you slowly back it out to keep it from snagging. Either that or push it through to the other side.

Exactly why I picked this up, I mean other than not wanting to dump about $1500 in the Durango.

It was full last Saturday, drove all week and topped it off yesterday for $40 only because we're driving a couple hours to be Cleveland this morning.

Wouldn't that be an electrical nightmare to hookup correctly and get it working since it wasn't made for the mr2 or am I wrong?

Easiest way to get one of these out is to pinch the barb back down, so that'd be my strategy. Trouble is, how to get there...

And this would be the most probable option. Hit the digit with local, drill the nail enough to get forceps thru the nail bed, pinch the barb flat, slide the hook out.

Would suck for the patient having that hole in their nail for a while, but the margins of the entry path would remain cleaner, expediting healing. Trying to back that out with the barb intact would shred a lot of flesh, which is no bueno given contamination that could be carried on that hook.

Nails grow back. Even if you remove chunks of the nail bed. Ask me how I know or look at this reply if you wanna see for yourself.
