Home theater is another animal all together. I could explain the history and how to correctly apply all the principals. Problem is explaining it actually accomplishes nothing, but sitting people down in my living room so they can hear it is the eye opening moment. Simply put, a quality stereo setup (yes 2 channel) for 2 people can achieve full surround effects better than present 11.2 channel surround sound system.

    Interesting.

I'm still not sure what to believe about 12 hole injectors. that one video someone posted showed little to no difference, and everyone seems to rave about the dirty deeds ones.

I just ordered them a few days ago. I'll post my thoughts in another thread once they are installed.

Does anyone know if the 04 DC had the option of the TRD supercharger?

Those are nice. Klipsch is garbage nowadays, they were brought out about 20 years ago and have never been the same. I would recommend hitting the used market and nab a Proceed amp to power them. They run between $800-1200 and worth every penny. They are designed and built by Mark Levinson's Madrigal Sound Labs.
Take a measuring tape and create a perfect triangle between you and speakers. Speakers should be at least 2 ft away from the back wall. Then toe in a little and lean then back a touch. U can spend hours doing the toe in and tilting until you get it right.
How do you know it's right? I use classic rock like Fleetwood Mac (well produced) for this. Sit at your position in the triangle, close your eyes and look around with your ears. The vocals should hang in space like if you actually had a center channel.

That horn in the forte creates a large 3D sound stage when dialed in. You hear stuff coming from all kinds of places and you find yourself muting the music to look for what made that noise, like in another room

I have a klipsch something or another that came with my new Samsung Qled as a package deal.

    I'm going on a rant.

So my pops bumped into my parts shelf, knocking it over...

It had my gallon can of POR-15 on it. It was dark when he left for work. He had to leave immediately, or be late for work this morning.

He gave the gallon can a quick once over, called it good, and set it upright... according to his text.

This morning when I woke up, I went out to clean up, and inspect the damage.

BOY HOWDY, was I fucking mad.

Long story short my ENTIRE GALLON dribbled out of the can due to a tiny puncture in the bottom, and seeped through the porch boards onto the ground.

I drove out this morning to all the stores I have available within my reach. Could not find POR-15 anywhere. Spoke with all the managers. The local shop managers said that a farmer had come in last week and bought all of it. I asked when they expected another shipment. Most said over a month, and one said about 3 weeks. FML

Not only was the gallon expensive, but it took a little over a month to get here due to the rona....

Bought some rust-oleum rattle cans as the next best thing.

Absolutely. I thought they were supposed to be good, but it didn't sound any better than a paradigm. I would give a testicle for some Martin Logans though.

Before I got new stuff I was rocking a yamaha rx-v1400 and a pair of CV dx7s. I was eyeballing a set of CV sl12s, but money didn't allow it. The polks will do. For now.

A few things from experience. Receiver power sounds thin, light in the pants. Don't pay attention to the wattage, it's marketing trap. Add a quality stereo amp to the receiver for main LR speakers. Like Linn, Proceed, Bel Canto, Classe

No big box brands, what made them great no longer exists. Example; Sandy Gross was 1 of the original owners and sound engineers for Polk Audio but he sold many decades ago. Now they are just regurgitating the same product wrapped in a different color (insert any brand here like Bose).
Buy speakers (even used) from companies that are designed, built and owned by sound engineers. Anthony Gallo and Tekton are some of my favorites

More random info on speakers. A vast majority of the speakers brands use the same parts, $100 speakers all the way up to the multi thousand dollar speakers. Tweeters, mids and woofers are supplied by a small handful of companies like Vifa Scan Speak, Peerless etc.
So what are you paying for? The general consumer is paying for marketing fluff (wattage, brand recognition, product placement). The rest of us pay for the talent. That sound engineer that knows WTF he is doing, a professional never comes cheap

I said this same thing last year and we still had people that wanted to pay a lot more for the same quality sound. That's why I just picked the inexpensive JVC speakers that I have.

Marketing. Marketing. And I'm going to say it FU#*

At present I have a cheap set of $150 each speakers and I spent a lot of time tweaking there position to maximize the soundstage. Unfortunately the sweet spot is to small, I guess that's what you get for $150. But with that said, when people sit in that spot there jaw hits the floor. Then they understand why I trash there soundbar
