dont even have the shell in my garage yet... and looking into mods. Shit. no matter what, if its not carpeted its getting carpeted. and some lighting is happening... hmmm may make use of my spare prius battery and give the cap its own battery for lights so i dont need to worry about the trucks battery going dead (prius battery is a tiny AGM)... bad ideas, all bad ideas.. my poor wallet.

the taco or the tundra? taco is 265/75r16. im happy with those on there.
tundra will likely end up being 285/70r17

35s on the taco? eek. the tacos planned on being my show truck honestly. ive played in it. but that truck has many memories and its also what got me started in all this shit. once its done its a sleeper that looks good and drives good.
tundra i can play with. And if i really plan on wheeling hard i have a aluminum bodied CJ with a AMC v8 in it

dont want to go too big on tundra tires either. dont want to completely kill gas mileage when towing.

I wish it had the supercharger, when I find one for sale, it usually costs what I paid for the whole truck.

Only 2 in the stable right now, just a list of former vehicles, some of which I should’ve kept, others that were taken from me before their time.

Not necessarily, I should’ve clarified only 2 Toyota 4wd. I have a Mazda CX-7 daily driver and a Jetta that needs to be repaired & sold.

God forbid I find an mr2 soon. You’ll see a badass mr2 and a unfinished taco and mostly finished tundra.

and a Jeep with everything done except lighting. (Really should do that...)

So my SAAB show car, Prius commuter, Taco into the woods toy, Tundra worker bee, Tacoma trailer, & RV isn't actually too many vehicles for one person then - right? I knew I didn't really have a problem. :)
It's just the right tool for the job is all. One can't have too many tools - that's a documented fact!

Someone sells some struts for the truck caps. You mount the cap on the truck, but with the press of a rocker, the cap raises up a little, or a lot. A cap elevator. & yes they do sell a screen for when you're camping with the cap raised. You certainly will need one of these systems. :smokertransformer: :boink::spy:

That doesn't sound like a problem. I have 3 of the exact same car that all serve the same purpose. That's a problem. But I've come to terms with it.

Been studying the service manual today, specifically about the rear drums. I know that in theory the parking brake should adjust my shoes but I'm going to give them a few clicks to see what happens. There was a point where my brakes felt better but I had over-tightened the rear shoes and had to back them off. There is a fine line between too little and too much it seems.

Wish I had a tool to measure the clearance but I'm not going to buy one.

Feel is how we do it at the dealer. Once you’ve done it once or twice you get a pretty good feel for it.

Does anyone see a reason why the 5 speed from the 05-06 Tundras wouldn't work in 00-04 Tundra?

The computer won’t control it. A340 is an early electronic transmission dating back to the mid 80s. The 5 speed is an adaptive transmission. If you want that find a donor truck for the engine and trans with harnesses and stuff

Ran the vin on the truck I’m getting the cap from, damn thing has the wire harness I need to. So hopefully they’ll work me a deal on that then the trucks almost done! Just gotta get the interior shit together then!

    @ Empty_Lord. Yet a 2003 & 2004 auto trans will swap out/function w/o computer upgrade (or anything else) to a 2000-2002 w/o problem? Plug and play, yes?
