If it’s got at least 120 ft-lbs it should be good for most any lug nuts. More than that and the tech counted too many Ugga-duggas.

Odd timing, coworker just got a flat in her BMW out here in San Fran. This is how you change a tire on one of them. Also told her that her tires are wore out anyway. Time to replace

I had a 1st gen Z3 - 1st year. I don't recall not having a spare, kinda sure there was a donut under the trunk floor. In fact, it was on the spare when I bought it, I had to buy a replacement tire & then change the donut for the tire - myself! Rotated that cars tires & put snow tires on it every winter. Fun car in the snow, loved doing donuts with it. No electrical issues ever other than the brain box for the trailer hitch going bad. Yup, luggage rack on the trunk & a hideaway trailer hitch that scooped around the rear bumper so it was invisible when the hitch was removed. Maybe the '96's were simpler than the later ones. you couldn't give me an X3, X5.
edit: @PenderBen is right, the Z3 spare dropped down & slid out from under the trunk.

Had very minor ear surgery today. Which, after these meds wear off, it means I stole some additional truck time. Might be able to mount a rack, a tank, bleed brakes, add clearance inside the front wheel wells and if the stars align, do some more welding. So, I will probably mount a rack, lol.

More ear surgeries required here I see. (Or just hearing aids)

Found out I need to get a mole on my big toe biopsied. Decided to hold off a couple weeks until I get this RA situation under control.

and the ground on a 3 prong is always on the bottom. Right? (I might be a little OCD too).
When I moved into my house I pulled out & rotated a light switch so it would be on - up, off - down. I couldn't live with off - up.
My house has 4 light switches that switch left/right. They still bug me every time, 9 years later - LOL.
Let me know if you ever start practicing in CT @bmf4069 !

An OCD electrician would have a conniption looking at the wiring in my parents house. Hot/neutral switched on 1/2 the outlets in the house and the safety ground on the 2nd floor completely isolated from the safety ground on the 1st floor.

They have grounds on the 2nd floor?
I've got 2 prong outlets up there & a ground strap not connected to the water line in the basement.
Eh, it's mainly spiders living upstairs, they don't use a lot of electricity.

My father’s idea of hiring an electrician is to find one you drink with in a bar who’s willing to give you a price break. Only downside is the guy my father used lost his license two years later, no joke.

My .02 There's a difference between someone who owns a BM Trouble-You and pays dearly for unnecessary lack of attention to maintenance & repairs and someone who appreciates what they have and doesn't mind paying for quality work regardless of skillsets or financial ability.

I spent some time learning electronics from the USMC back when they made sure that you had attention to detail. It's all DIY for me unless the tools necessary are unaffordable.

You gave it a shot, and knew what you were doing. Best mechanic in the world gets jammed up, or stuck at times. Found the wife's expedition had a flat when we got back from a long international flight. It was a Sunday and 6pm, over 100 degrees and surrounded by concrete. Not cool. Set off to show my worth and get that mother changed out, sure enough the factory wrench rounded the lug nut. Turned into a serious mess, and had to get some others involved and use a tool from someone else's car from what I remember. Terrible feeling. Anyways, I agree the factory stuff is garbage. Found out the Ford's like hers were cast out of two pieces and were different metals. Common problem. Needless to say, I swapped those shits out the next day. Corporate bean counters have a slow painful one coming their way.

My only claim to fame here so far, besides deciding to restore my (new to me) First Gen is replacing the Front L&R Air Fuel Ratio Sensors which is what precipitated my acquisition of the truck from my father (soon to be 81) in the first place. I am eager to show it to him.

Is there a way to seal a leaking threaded 1-1/2" fitting on the pressure side of a pool pump? I've replaced the fitting twice with two different types of PTFE Tape and same result (small leak). The pump housing is brand new. JB Weld? Flex Seal? HELP!
