When I was a young whippersnapper, we lived in a house my dad had bought. At some point, before I can remember, he bought a second house. He rented out the house itself, but not the yard or the 2 car garage that he kept for himself. He was rebuilding a 37 ford cab with the rumble seat in that garage. I learned to ride a bicycle in the yard there. But yeah, worked great for him.

You would have loved the guest house I lived at for years, we knew them thru lifeguarding and high school, but the dad was a jazz band teacher, and the son was a instrument repair person. The sons wedding was super cool; all the dads students played music the entire night(fueled by free booze and food)
The parents moved to Willits CA for some reason and he did more jazz band up there; but he would always talk about students bringing in samples of their parents crop, he didn’t partake, so the other son with them would get to sample it all…..
    super fun family!!!

Yeah, that does sound like a lot of fun! A live swing band at the wedding is something I want if I ever get married. I really want to get back into playing and do stuff like open jam nights.

Growing up I always wanted to be a music teacher and studio musician. I'm so glad I didn't go down that path though, because I wouldn't have near the same opportunities I do now. Plus there's always the saying don't make your hobby your job...

What do you get to drive at work (if anything at all)? I always like seeing the lifeguard Tundras and Tacomas down here.

I wish we could morph this to a 1.5' less overall and a 1' less wheel base. But, it's roomy inside...

It's a long story, for the last 15 years I've been driving the trucks you have been seeing to work. I had 24hr responses. I'm close to retirement and when asked to volunteer to be on call after hours I had a distinct answer. I drive my own Tundra to work now.

hopefullt the set i find is power.. i do like me a power seat these days... use to prefer manual.. but the much finer tunability of a power seat is welcomed these days.

I've always liked my power seats. Since installing the seat jackers, I don't have to adjust the front as high. As I get tired on a drive, I fiddle with the power adjustment and lumbar and it takes pressure off my spine.

Prior to installing the seat jackers, my front was always adjusted to max height.

I have so much power I don't rely on seat power. Unless you meant @empty_lord , I can't speak to what goes on there.

to be fair our reg cabs in good shape are worth more than most DC or AC for literally no reason other than they're rare. LOL

Oh, and by the way. Things are working out. I still love all you fuckers. Still got some big things on my plate, but I have a great base here and have found some footing with my personal issues. Got some absolutely phenomenal support in my personal life outside the forum now.

    Still gotta finish that cake....

I see a ton around here. Yeah, way more AC than RC but still RC isn’t rare. RC v8 4x4 is decently rare though.

I think we just have a ton of work Tundras down here. They have mostly replaced the smaller Toyota trucks for laborers.
