You do not have to remove the door panel on DC, I can't imagine you have to on an AC.

Yeah I remember pulling the door panel to get at the moulding and prying it from the inside to loosen & enable it to be pulled off the door now that @FirstGenVol mentioned it.

Keep those tabs on the belt strip - line them up one after the other. Like a angle closing in geometry.

Ok. Mine were not coming off without a lot of force and and I wasn't about to pry from the painted, visible side of my door. I had to use a small pry bar to get mine off.

Yeah they stayed when I kinda slid off the old one, and yeah I slowly brought the angle in to get each clip to go down the channel, im not sure if the clips might have moved in the belt channel?

it's weird because I just did mine on the passenger side. I had done the driver's side a year ago and took the whole truck apart. I swear to god, this time on passenger side I did front and back in like 20 minutes. Only unbolted/loosened side mirrors.

Those clips go inside the door. Your weatherstrip makes an upside down U around the outer door panel, but those clips are in the middle of the window opening. outboard side.

I'll throw my .01 into the mix. I chose to remove not only the inside door panel but mirror since it goes underneath the outside mirror trim a few inches....personal choice. I also placed the old trim side by side with new trim since the old trim had a wore mark where clips were. Using a marker, matched on new where clips were on old trim. In the below pic you can kinda see a yellow marker where clip was marked on new trim.

I think the AC is slightly different. I'm fairly certain I had to remove my mirrors too because it tucks under the mirror in the front.

I might have made that more confusing. the clip attachment point for the door side is in the door. I can'r remember if those clips wrap the door/window opening. I left the clips on the belt, aligned them and went front to back after I had the part behind the side mirror all the way in.

AC does get intimate with the mirror.

I so want to go pull this belt out. But I can't risk breaking those clips. I think last go I broke 1 of 4 on the way out. But if you don't loosen the side mirrors on the front doors, forget it.

Do the door tweets just pop off right?
I def think I misaligned most of them on the front as I was sliding it in, loosening the mirror will def help. Now the back doesn’t seem to be clipping and seating on that super small clip and the most rear part where it flares up the window

The DC is less intimate. Both (AC/DC) need the mirrors loose or out based on that pic.

The dealer gave me extra clips. I think you can order them separately. I don’t recall them being expensive.

I was fortunate I reckon cause my new trim had clips attached, simply had to slide them to their proper place.

For the rears, is the clip supposed to go into the weird loose metal clip inside the window? image.jpgimage.jpg
It doesn’t exactly line up back there it seems

After mucho fucking around with those, I think it’s actually easiest to remove all the white clips, put them where they need to go, then slide the belt molding down into place and snap each one. I kept only hitting 1:4 clips.
And @alb1k i think that rear little clip slides into a home at the back of the rear door. I need to pull the driver side rear and see if I can get it to stick!

Honestly when I did my doors it was a shit show. I had an hour to be somewhere and thought "this will take 20 minutes tops"

An hour later I was barely getting the 2nd one snapped in. I think @FirstGenVol has a good idea to loosen the mirror because the front edge is supposed to tuck under the mirror. I couldn't jam mine under the mirror and I ended up with maybe half a centimeter too much toward the handles. F it, doesn't rain much here. Still bothers me to see it.

And @FrenchToasty if you can put the clips in the door, then snap the trim onto the clips thats the smart way. I have a very bad habit of doing things when I don't have the time to do them right.
