Ok, I've got my hardware, I've got a tinted 1/8" sheet of acrylic, I've got my cardboard template. I may have to be happy with that, call it done. I know this won't be perfect. But it looks like this piece is missing. I can't verify my particular topper had this part, and seeing as all the other parts were included when I bought it, I could assume it never had one. But it does seem kind of integral, if not completely necessary.

I haven't done an exhaustive internet image search, but so far all of the all-glass rear windows I'm seeing have these.

I'm sure I could fab something...but does anyone have experience with finding these on the market? Even what they're called? Probably going to go without it, but I'd like to see some options first.

    IMG_0096.jpg

    IMG_0097.jpg

The back frame has this small channel, and I bought this weather stripping for it. But those plastic moulding pieces look like they probably attach to the glass with adhesive. Totally different thing.

    IMG_6266.jpg

Seems like maybe it's a "skirt"? Either way, no luck finding them for sale except for Dodge Ram...

I just bought similar weather stripping to what I posted in the last photo, but a lot wider, instead of just the "bulb", so it'll hang down farther. Won't have the clean look but if that's what I wanted I shouldn't have bought a topper with a busted back window!

My ‘16 Tacoma leer has that plastic bit. My ‘02 Tundra leer has a flat black flapper instead.

@MT-Tundra i would well imaging that it’s just a piece of decorative trim. Maybe only useful as something to grab on to as you reach up to close the glass. I don’t see where it would have any actual function other than that.

The 1st bulb is a perimeter seal. Door seal is different from perimeter seal. Door seal comes in in single and double leaf, with variations of standard and offset T.

    Here's a single leaf with standard T: https://truckoutfittersplus.com/topper-door-seal-single-leaf-t.html

It's 1" tall, so you'd be shwoing about ¾" overlap, which is adequate to protect paint from slaps.

For a slightly less tall one, and I think this is appropriate for the door looking at its configuration so it protects both ABOVE and BELOW the channel, you may try a double leaf with the T up the middle. It'll have about 1/16" - 1/8" less exposed below the channel.

    https://truckoutfittersplus.com/tru...oor-Seals/topper-door-seal-double-leaf-t.html

And there may be other options. If you know your model of topper, it's easier to find the intended seal... https://truckoutfittersplus.com/truck_topper_parts/Topper-Door-Seals.html

Thanks. I had a flurry of activity trying to figure that out last night, since my plexiglass had finally come in. Realized that while the plexiglass will overhang the metal frame on the top and sides, it looks like it shouldn't completely cover the bottom of the frame. Which means there'll be an abrupt edge there. Probably that plastic piece is decorative, like you say, to cover that edge.

Not a big deal. We finally had some weather move in (woke up to couple inches of snow) so whether I can get the plexiglass cut will depend on whether the snow/rain lets up. I have a couple other priorities (Tacoma cv and u-joint) this weekend, but hopefully I can make some progress on this topper. Having the topper without the rear window is still better than no topper at all, but it's bugging me having the topper and still not really being able to keep stuff back there.

Thanks. I think that last photo I posted is the stuff I want. I did realize after looking closer that the first gasket I posted is meant for the sides/top of the rear window, not the bottom seal, as you mentioned. Glad I realized that and got the right stuff on the way. Pretty much anything with the 3/16" "T" will fit in the channel of the bottom part of the window frame, so I got the one with a bulb for padding/protection and the longest "tail" I could find.

Excited to finally get this thing together.

Looking at your door edge, it looks like that latter one I linked is probably correct, and this is what the manuf'er had intended. A dual-leaf with t-channel down center.

You can technically trim the edge of the flap anyway you want to make it look more seamless.

    Seems right.

I'll see how the one I ordered fits, and if I don't like how things line up I'll try the one you linked instead.

I have a problem on my Tacoma with that bottom piece sliding out of the channel. Every now and then I see it sticking 6" out one side and need to slide it back. Aside from a dab of silicone or something, what's a good way to keep that weather stripping from sliding around in the channel?

The channel should be tapered, as you see in the pic I marked up. That boxed section is there to allow for insertion of the T-channel, and the end of the slot should be tapered to prevent "crawling out" you describe on the Taco. If you're experiencing that, you may want to find a way to block the channel OR maybe take a small punch and tap one or both the corners at the edge of the "T" channel inward, just enough to catch the seal from sliding out. Don't go whole-hog, you'll need to spread it again later if you ever need to replace the seal. Unless it has a similar box provision as the one above, then you can get closer to full-seal at the edge.

I think I'd much rather have this big-window style (but the Leer version*) on my truck. Chances of finding one are like needle in a haystack at under $1k though.

That one's a SnugTop, pricing is pretty on-par for the brand. They're the Apple of camper shell world, it seems. I find Leer and ARE to be better, but Snugtop does have that little somethin' extra polish to their stuff that I don't think you can get in mass-produced caps to the quantity Leer and ARE are knocking them out.

Nah, not my color. I’d rather have the color matched silver sky, however those mini choppers are cool! Never seen these before. Look like a bad ass in elementary school.

I doesn’t fit the bed real well. Def not designed to be on an AC. But hey, if it’s cheap enough
