I would love to find a cap but they sell within hours around here. Had a leer dealer tell me they quit making the aluminum contractor at the end of last year. That is what I really want but would buy a fiberglass with windows.

For the aluminum contractor style cap you could possibly make an F150 top work. The measurements are not correct, buy they are close. You will NOT get a fiberglass F150 cap to fit though because of the shape of the cap end. See info below

Thanks for the tip. I see a lot more of those around but was not aware of the possibility. Been looking for a few months now but don't really need it til spring/summer. The only thing about the F150 is the cab height. Don't want it to stick up too far above tundra cab.

Always check the measurements of any potential cap you look at against the measurements in the 1st post of this thread. Again, it’s possible, but I do know that the measurements are not exact and you may end up with a cap that sort of fits and at the same time sort of looks like it doesn’t belong there.

New Gofast topper. The ordering process was a bit of a nightmare, but the topper is really nice.D2B26B2A-B25D-4552-99E0-66D298A96CFD.jpg

There were several radica moonlander toppers at the shop where I got this installed. If I needed a dedicated camper setup and had a bunch of coin laying around, that's what I would go for. The are really nice and they make them for the 1st gen.

The price was a little crazy, but I had no luck finding anything used locally that wasn't thrashed. All aluminum, the roof is a translucent composite that lets in filtered light. Rear and sides open up. I got the front and rear window option. I've got a wolfbox digital rear mirror that I need to wire in and install. A guy (http://usemoreforce.com) makes a 3d printed mount for the camera that fits into the exterior channel on the topper. Should be a clean install once it warms up.

This local vendor has 2 toppers right now on the pricier side. Look like they have just been painted. Prices just keep going up on these.

I’m interested is this grey one and sell my current camper with clear coat issues

All are access cab I’m sure

It's crazy to me, I see some that are in fair shape but totally overpriced, like there's several jackasses in GA who have theirs up for sale at $1,000 and they've been for sale for a couple of months b/c the pricing is full-ReRe.

Then there's other stuff like this ARE that just needs a good sand-down, potentially fiberglass seal, and paint, they just just sit there languishing for weeks on end with no sale either: Granted, the owner doesn't list the year, but it I'm 75% certain it's for a 1st gen, and being in ATL I wouldn't want to drive 2.5 hours to Sylacauga AL, and I also don't love that style of window, but for someone who wanted to invest a tiny amount of time I bet that dude would take $100-150. A motivated buyer with more means than funds or savvy with $$ could plop it on some sawhorses in the yard, and get to refinishing it on the cheap.

They must grow on trees down there in the SE as many as you find. Every time one pops up within 2 hrs of me its gone in less than a day.

Bot my previous shells had "tracks" on the top. Subsequently, I have towers and crossbars that use that system.

My Tundra shell has what appear to be "gutter" style feet, which I am unfamiliar with. Looking at Thule products, their gutters look a little different... Are "gutter" style towers generally compatible with different gutters

It may just be easier for me to put tracks on this thing rather than buy new towers?

If all you need are the towers and those can attach to your current crossbars that would be cheaper, and likely an easier install. The trade off would be a fixed mounting point though. So if that matters then yes I would install tracks.

I'm really digging the steelies on this with the silver shell. Great looking truck. Anybody know if those are tundra steelies? Or maybe FJ's?

They make steel wheels with better specs so you don’t have to run spacers if you’re lifted. Pretty sure I’ve seen 17x8.5 with decent offsets. I was going to get one for a spare, but ended up finding a wheel closer to my specs.
