1st Gen camper shell buying info

Hey y’all, I’ve been looking for a while for high / mid rise topper for an AC. Would trade my cab height leer. Let me know if you’re interested or you know someone who is!

It looks like it's for one of the more-recent generations of FERDs because theirs has a weird hockey-stick near the front of the cab to match the profile of the cab. But the FERD caps, the kick forward is taller. The area above it is more vertical too.

“Just had paint corrected”, yet image showing in the picture looks not-matching, like the shop who sprayed it used white or grey primer under the topcoat instead of black, when it probably should’ve been black primer?

Primer color matters with these things, my son’s friend had a small shop repaint his vintage Lexus IS300 which is a bright yellow color. The front driver fender is off, not as bright as the other panels, same as the front bumper skin. Same problem. Painter used a dark primer color, should’ve been white or grey.

 

I'm guessing he didn't mean a repaint, but rather a clay bar, touch up, buff and ceramic recoat.

 

I moved these here to be more relavent. We should be able to get a mod to give shifty OP access or at least move his #17 reply to #1. Tag a mod, let's make this happen. @Squatting Pigeon ?

Any way we can get it moved back into 1st gen subforum, as it's exclusively 1st gen content?

Not trying to be high maintenance or anything, but the content fits in 3 places:

• 1st Gen: Content inside pertains exclusively to 1st gen trucks, and is viewed/needed primarily by 1st gen members.
• BST: It's a "finds" thread, given we're always updating with new camper shell finds to help members locate something for their "vintage" truck.
• Camper shells/tonneau forum: The subject is about camper shells

Looking at this from a purely logical perspective... the info pertains exclusively to 1st gen trucks, and is viewed/needed primarily by 1st gen members, so it should probably live in the 1st gen forum.

If we follow my perception of the logic under which this thread was moved, should we start tagging mods to move every "my 1st gen truck has engine problems" into a general mechanical subforum or something, and every "1st gen audio install" thread into the audio section? The reality is, doing either of those would be a disservice to the poster, because you'll get far less 1st-gen-specific input once it leaves the 1st gen subforum.
