Mostly straight now. Definitely not impressed with these clamps. Going to order another set for piece of mind and use all 8. The four the PO included are too small. No clue how he made em work.
Thanks for the ratchet strap idea.

I have good clamps I think. I might’ve shipped to another member already. I need to look.

I can't find this "ratchet strap" idea...what's the idea exactly? I can't figure out what you're doing with it.

Trying to suck in the bottom rear corners to the rear window. I had some major gaps.

No, once you got it where you want it, you put in the rear clamps then remove the strap.

Yeah, they aren't particularly busy and have annoying ads, but sometimes there's diamonds in the rough between the community and info.

Used that forum back in 2006 for my Tundra related inquiries. I can't keep up with both these days.

Mystery solved. Thanks for the tip. It worked pretty well. But my clamps are kinda cheap, so I ordered another set and will likely do the ratchet strap one more time. This time I'll crank it on both sides, not just the driver. Lessons learned

I like the way you did yours. I used one really long strap.

Two of my clamps are just basic C-clamps to go along with my 4 topper style clamps.

It's just too bad these clamps slip n slide and I didn't think to crank the passenger side come-along any. Definitely got it snugged up better than before. But I think I can do it even better next time and hopefully be done with it. I need to pick up the front anyways, to add a strip of double bubble to the bed rail closest to the cab. I can still see sunlight through it now. I'll be using all 8 clamps when the next set of four shows up. The four the PO included are tiny. I have no idea how he got them to fit his truck, because he already had the top off.

I might. I want to be sure I go it exactly where I want it first and no leaks.

I used some thin metal brackets I cut onto 1"x2.5" pieces to try to widen the bite of the clamps. Maybe I'll wrap those in some old t-shirt material in the future.

950# dry weight. Could probably make it work.
