1st Gen camper shell buying info

Yep. I'm just starting my search now. Might hold off on spending more money for a bit since I just dropped a bunch of cash on the truck, but I figure I better keep my eye out for a deal.

 

That looks like a great deal. That would bring at least $1000 here and be gone in an afternoon.

Yeah, that's used dealer pricing right there. And with the other shells and stuff laying around, I'd almost think it was, save for the reflections I'm seeing in the glass.

 

Another prime example. They really glued their balls to their butthole.

I never made a full tally of cost, but it was somewhere around $3k in foam, fiberglass cloth, epoxy resin and fillers. ... and 8 months of my life. Im tuned in and learned up now so v2 would be way faster.
v1 is way way way overbuilt.
v2 will be getting 2 plies of glass for about 13-15 Oz per sq yard total vs the 3 plies/21-25ish Oz/s/y that v1 has. That will save some more weight/material cost and still be a strong 100% waterproof shell.

*although the Access Cab and Double Cab have different bed dimensions, the I.D. of the width and length remain almost the same, as well as the height of the cab in relation to the bed rail. GFC forum has more information, but this will fit both models, as long as you have the 6' bed.
