I know where there's one in West Knoxville, is that too far away?

How are you going to prevent the shell from cracking when using the Roofnest? Like, is the roof of the shell reinforced in some way to allow for 150-250lbs of human weight shifting around, with the added weight of the steel crows nest, without cracking the fiberglass at the drillpoints of the crows nest?

How did you attached the roof rack? Iv been looking into one but dont have any rails and will have to drill thru the roof. It will have max 150lbs on it, more for just a swing out awning and light storage

Or so i need a shell with tracks?

Gotta drill baby. That's what I did. My roof basket came with brackets that allowed me to mount it.

I can't speak for him but years ago I called ARE and they said my topper could safely hold a tent. Due to it's age I'm skeptical. I'm also too cheap to buy a RTT.

I've seen other people add metal reinforcement inside their topper so it can take the weight of a tent.

Mine is like 1” thick in the center of the roof; I followed the edge when I mounted my roof rails. But yeah I don’t know if id trust that much weight up top

Maybe if you build a sweet bed cage for support. Also would improve safety. But then youre adding weight, plus the weight and top heaviness of an RTT.
Only way I'd run an RTT is on a very short bed rack. But truth is, I'd never run an RTT.

Freebie on the east side of ATL, looks like a Leer 100R despite the branding and rear door, which looks to be a replacement.

You’ll be making up for the freeness replacing those windows and painting. I’d toss a windoor on the drivers side and a fold-down slider up front, slap some color on it.

That’s one of those free ones that ends up costing more than a good condition one.

Yup. But if you were resourceful, I could see you coming out ahead. Front window has a boot; if you stuck with a boot, and did what @FirstGenVol did with his side window (replace with diamondplate or similar), it's just a matter of spraying it your desired color, and unfuckering that back door.

Seems like it's tough to find shells that don't need paint work, even the ones only a few years old. Losing battle on that.

It was $500 if it cracks then it cracks I'm not that worried about it. Leer says it can technically hold the weight but we'll see.

Is there a list or a spreadsheet or something somewhere that says what other vehicle camper shells are compatible? Someone must have compiled a list somewhere by now!

He's saying the list doesn't exist because nothing else is fully compatible. There are a few close fits, but they will inevitably leak.

Just make you some 2x4 jacks to prop up under it when you’re using it.

Thanks! I had a dig through, there's pretty much nothing listed that's even close. What a bummer but at least I have a conclusion to the question!

This guy is either totally clueless of how much that back glass costs, or thinks very highly of his cap. White AC cap, maybe all glass intact for $350 north of ATL:

Sick. I love this style. But my luck, I'd bust out the top window offroading and it'd be like $1M to fix it. Meanwhile, I'd have to ductape it as the freezing rain comes down on me and my stuff all night haha
