I'm curious what you mean by a "everything equal length with a proper x pipe." Should the x pipe be equidistant from each of the collectors on the manifolds? A lot of the drivetrain components, specifically on the sequoia, make it difficult to put the x pipe right in them middle. Would putting the x pipe off to one side of the truck hurt performance? Would a y pipe be better in this case, like the ones you sell on your cat-back systems?

With a sequoia there’s no way to run dual tailpipes out the back. Your only choice in duals is to exit before the rear wheel. You’re losing a lot of low end torque like this. I’d rather see a single tailpipe up and over the rear axle and lose a few Hp but then still maintain low end torque.

to summarize, use as equal length as you can with the y pipe and tie back to singl stock tailpipe. We have this as a bolt on option for use with our headers in a sequoia.

Hey guys. I ordered through Keith @ Dirtydeeds. I would recomend anyone interested do the same. I would not be able to produce in timely fasion and work/life has been a real challenge. I would place a order with Dirtydeeds while he is still producing them.

@BluegrapeVr6 are you gonna do the install yourself or have a shop do them? Interested to see how all the extra work like dealing with cats and O2 sensors goes. I’d be pretty quick to jump on these as my next mod, but worried I’m gonna be throwing codes I can never clear which is scary in my daily.

There’s multiple ways to get the of any code related to cats. Best way is to run them. But call for details. I’ve worked with literally hundreds of guys on setting up tundras with long tubes. 760-877-4234.

Yes i will be installing them when I refresh front end. Keith "dirtydeeds" is correct. The " biggest" part of the header i stall is just the bitch of installing them. Unless you are a race only and truly race only. You keep these20231127_115550.jpg

    * keep the cats and you secondary O2 Will Be fine. Your primary O2 that determines fuel trim ect will be fine or require a " spark plug fouler" " upgrade" at most. You should not get any codes with Dirtydeeds Long Tube header upgrade. Keith- do you keep bung for primary O2 within lenghth of factory wires ? Or do you have to lenghthen. ?

You have to lengthen. Your best option is cut and solder. Use shrink tube. 3m tape. Split loom 3/8” conduit. It’ll look oem and be watertight, unlike plug n play extenders.

Hey guys check first post for updates! Just received my set of DIRTYDEED's LTH's!
    - initial impression is they look solid and well built. Flanges are true and high quality V-bands!

Thanks, i look forward to getting them on. Kinda have to figure out plan for the rest of the exhaust. Dont think my particular truck needs/warrants full custom system from Dirtydeeds. But who knows. I plan to call Keith back and discuss options. Def want the "y" pipe. I have to remember the brand name of gaskets Dirtydeeds recomends to use.

assume you've had time to get them installed now. Which been your experience? I've got mine ordered from Keith now along with the cat back duals x pipe etc.

i'm a newbie to some of this, but Keith told me without modification that I believe the LT headers would be triggering some codes and the check engine light.

No, not yet. Life has gotten in way and right now im just logging O2 sensor with both my Link MX+ and using factory Oem diagnotic tool, i have anout 10 logs per bank. The OBDLINKmx+ gets pretty similiar reading when using the logging fuction, but sometimes gets confused and goes wacky, impressively they both read MAF VOLTAGE slmost identical.

The reason I say this is the DD design may require hardware adjustments to get your 02's "in spec" .

My truck only has 66k on it, so with everything i got going on at moment i plan to install when I either get bad manifold leaks, or front end wears out for ease of access.

I will be modifying and running oem cats, the DD DESIGN will most likely show a small increase across the board with largest gain at high rpm. There should be little to no tq loss. With keeping cats id be stoaked w a 20whp gain.

I have free access to dyno, so whenever i do install them, you guys will have a 3rd party answer. But , i 100% believe DD when they say 30whp w race system. Stock system is decent. But a few bottlenecks which impede flow.

P.S.- anybody non vvti want to comepare logs?

And Weagle. I dont think you will neec a tune if you build system right, remember your primary upstream 02's will see wildy different readings due to dia of collecter alone.

I suggest reading up on how the ecu determines fuel trim to better understand what you need to accomplish.

I've noticed the high idle on longtube trucks is higher.

where you at bluegrape? But i 'm gonna be difficult & have ideas for how my map is setup. Toyotas setup aint perfect, but its pretty predictable. But i want some extra fuel for backlash. Really dont need more than 240hp, but i wanna give it some attitude.

Im in MD. I have never heard of high idle issue. Any links? Either way , once dialed in the headers should be improvement.

I will be doing x-pipe with dual 2.5" with quiet flows. Probably a borla muffler as I know they can quiet down a otjerwise "straight-through" exhaust from past experience. Keith/DD system is too harcore for me and my neighbor's. Weding in a resonator is not a big deal if its still too loud.

And yes, 240 would be plenty. I just ripped this bad boy and it only has 245: not mine, but i get to rip it.

Mine doesnt leave noboby waiting. One of the things i'm interested in changing is the shift pattern. 1-2 and 2-3 with less rpm. No need for OD until 60. But when i turn OD off, i want a differnt map willing to run to 7krpm. Thats the side dumping fuel for flame pops. But the main tune is designed to be under 3600rpm and lock the converter with an offset throttle.

I’ve never seen a high idle situation in hundreds of trucks with long tubes. And afr adjusts to the headers no problem. No need to tune, but you want to tune;)

    Sure

03 AC with JBA LTs, cheap cats, and TRD catback. Also have DD12's and a Volant intake.

Tried to VF tune but my CAL ID is not supported.

I dont know about logs, but I been getting a CEL for p0420/p0430

I've got all new Denso sensors and O2 spacers. Still been getting the CEL.
I been thinking about being a new MAF sensor.

Eventually I want to do the 05-06 intake manifold mod that Keith has a video on.

I plan to do 4.10 rear gears and a new LSD by next year.

I'd love to get this thing tuned though.

Remember? I'm learning as I go here and had no prior knowledge of how the tundra handles this.

I was hoping for some straightforward answers, but it sounds like there might be more than one option and not necessarily straightforward.

I'll read up on the ECU and fuel trim as you suggested but again I have zero knowledge of how the Tundra system operates and how headers will affect the systems on my Tundra. Keith did not mention this as an option

I'll have to read back over everyone's replies, but Keith recommended an ECU tuning to eliminate the codes I would get with headers. Someone else suggested I would need the bypass kit and now your suggestion.

    It’s way simple:

you don’t need a tune. The ecu handles everything.

you want a tune. It’s more fun with it. Plus it removes check engine light.

there’s other ways to remove check engine light. But a tune is more fun.

Thanks. It's a shame I got the Overland tune two months ago, but it doesn't seem to address the check engine light that I would get with headers. And I spoke with the guy that did it at Relentless Tuning here locally and he had no idea what I'm talking about

Update on this? What was the cost from Dirty Deeds for these if you don't mind me asking? Have you figured out your plan for the rest of the exhaust? I've got leaks everywhere in my 07 Sequoia and want to delete the SAIS as well so looking at options. Thanks!

Mine has a much higher high idle since installing the headers, but I have attributed it to the new ecu from the folks Keith recommended (Quantum) that is programmed for the headers. I was going to get with that guy again after I get done with my timing belt

It starts at 1800 RPMs and then steadily but gradually gets down to just under 1000

And if you're at a stop and give a little gas to pull forward and let go, it then idles at 500. But it doesn't seem close to coughing/sputtering or shutting down - it is a very smooth idle at 500

It has never had either of those behaviors, and they both started immediately after the install of the LT's and the ECU with the custom programming for LT's

I've wondered if the ECU doesn't need to "re-learn" since it is a different ECU. It is the exact same model number however he made sure of that.

No matter, it is a bad ass set up and I love it. Dramatic difference
