    going to look at a 1992 pickup 22re 4wd. Only has 110k miles. Anything in particular I should be aware of on this model/yr?

    Wow that is seriously low mileage for that year truck. Those older Toyota's are know to rust away before the engine needed any work so I would inspect it very well for rust. Check the bedsides and fenders well, the underside of the bed, under the carpet on the floor, shock towers, leaf spring mounts and so on. I'm not sure about the engine but I would check the oil and coolant levels before and after a test drive.

    Had a 93 22re. Timing chain rattle. Plastic chain tensioners get brittle over time and break, cause rattle. Should be easy to hear. Going to want to do a timing chain anyway when you get it. Aftermarket sells metal tensioners. Pretty much bulletproof other than that.
