So for the stereo, I've been accumulating the parts. If I bought the parts today, about $3K for the sound system plus any labor. For the ceramic, about $1k .

How hard is it to replace the grill? Never done but thinking of it here; I have a 1794 also (2018) but really like better the TRD Pro grill you’ve got here.

also - the stub antenna — did you lose signal strength at all? Especially in major cities or mountains where signals are easier to block?

lastly, correct me if I’m wrong…the antenna is AM/FM only, right? XM goes through the rooftop GPS antenna, I assume, and thus wouldn’t be impacted by the stub change?

In my 2018 Tundra 1794 Ed.

    mods so far:
    • Ready Lift Leveling kit 3F 1 R (I was able to do this install in my garage. No issues so far. I am happy with it.)
    • Tesla Style Radio (I don't recommend this unit if you like plug and play installs only. It required some work to make it work as expected.)
    • Dual layer tailgate decal
    • Interior and Exterior LED lights replacement (this is a must)
    • Added Marker Lights to factory side mirrors (using F150 LED marker lights). Love this mod. Maybe risky because of the cutting process but looks great.
    • Added a second backup camera that works when the tailgate door is open. I really needed this mod. This should be a feature from factory. :)
    • HoodScoop (Drilled my hood for a none functional hoodscoop but I love how it looks!)
    • Wheel Spacers (Spidertrax 1.25 In.) Exactly what I needed.
    • Custom Console Wireless Charger (Fast Charging tested with Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra)
    • Tray Organizer with Wireless Charger - CarQiWireless sent this to my for a review, and exceeded my expectations in terms of the value added for the money and its quality. Many thanks. Actually there is a 10% discount using 10TUNDRAMOD on Amazon valid until 3/31.
    • Anytime backup and Front Camera (Works with Tesla style radio too)
    Repairs
    • Rear glass replacement
Added some photos and videos on my build thread:

    https://www.tundras.com/threads/diy-1794-ed-build.82488/

    Next 4 Mods:
    • Roof marker lights
    • Tailgate Lock
    • 360 LED Exterior Lights
    • Side mirror illuminated switch (No backlight on side mirrors switch :()

I believe they are 275/70/R18s. I can confirm later today but that's the number sitting in my head.

Edit: Just checked, and yes, they're 275/70/R18s.

The grille is pretty easy to replace. You just have to be careful when removing the old one because a couple of the plastic tabs can break.
Typically, a shorter antenna will not have as high a signal reception capability as a long one. Some designs are better than others though.
Your last statement regarding AM/FM and GPS being different antennas is correct.

Yes , I am very unimpressed with this mod for how much hype it gets on this forum. I notice very little difference. That being said I also have Firestone air bags installed with toytec boss rear shocks. Not sure if it is due to how I had my previous rear suspension set up but IMO it’s a $200 paper weight.

Do you mind sharing where you got your interior chrome delete stuff? It looks nice and I am considering doing the same thing. I am backwards from you and did all my exterior stuff first!

    Here's what i got:
-AJT interior kit, they sell it as a whole kit (dont really like the door handle covers too much, maybe going to swap for the meso ones when theyre available)
    -I got a steering wheel from a 18' tacoma
    -TRD PRO shift knob
-Vinyl wrapped the dash pieces, the ends are shrinking so when i have time im going to paint them like i did the doors. (Trim Black w/2k Matte Clear over)
-TRD PRO all weather floor mats, i have these in my tacoma and i like the softer feel of the rubber on these.
-Painted the silver and wood trim on the doors, to take off the pieces ive found that you can just use a sharp 1" chisel and hammer and just knock off the plastic weld.
-Saw someone on here that used petroleum jelly and black paint to blackout the 1794 center console lid emblem, so i just copied that.
Everything i used was basically bolt on except the painted parts, heres some pics of the door parts

Very nice work! How did you re-attach the trim on the upper door panel? I use Sparks too but also found that McGeorge's pricing is sometimes less with free shipping:
    https://toyotaonlineparts.mcgeorgetoyota.com/
Now that you're experienced and so good at doing all this stuff, I just need you to come do mine too! :D
Here's my rig. I've done a lot to the exterior to basically convert it to a TRD Pro+, but need to start tackling all the interior stuff now. Many Thanks for all the good ideas and information!

NICE! My grill should be done painting any day now and on the way to me, ill try and see if McGeorge's pricing on shipping is better next part i order.. but living in Hawaii gets expensive shipping wise. I used short screws with fender washers to hold some of the tabs that wouldnt stay flush, but for the most part i just mixed up 5min epoxy and put a new dab to glue the trims back

Oh, didn't know you were in Hawaii - beautiful place. I think the McGeorge free shipping deal is only for the lower 48...but their pricing is still a good bit lower than most others on OEM stuff. Keep us posted as your mods go - super nice Tundra, especially in the wind chill pearl!

I just picked up my 2014 1794 in December after totaling my 2007 Tundra. So far here is what I have done and my plans

    Completed:
    Bilstein 5100's all around
    Procomp 2.5'' front 1'' rear
Method Wheels with 275/70R18 BFG All Terrain (taken off my 2007 after the wreck)
    S&B Cold Air Intake

    Planned:
Rigid LED fog lights (just got them in)
Rock Sliders (any input would be appreciated not trying to break the bank)
Exterior Chrome Delete (still deciding color pattern I want to go with)
    Pedal Commander (maybe?)
Upgrade headlights to 2018 TRD Pro
    tonneau cover
    Ditch Lights (thinking Amber)
Any other recommendations on upgrades welcome!

Picked up my 2014 Tundra 1794 about a year and a half ago. Got lucky and bought it for $34K with only 53,000 miles. The previous owner had installed a topper and AMP power steps.

Within 30 days of buying it, I installed the following:

    • Toytec 2.5 Alumas up front (set to 3" lift)
    • Toytec rear shackles 1.5" lift
    • SPC UCAs
    • Fuel Vector wheels 18x9
    • Nitto G2 37x12.5x18 tires
    • Boss 10" head unit
    • BAM loudest (standard) exhaust (still my favorite mod)
    • Color match suuround/hood bulge
    • TRD grille
    • Black handles, mirror caps, and blacked out emblems
    • C4 hybrid front bumper
    • 5% tint
    • Roadmaster active suspension (on its way)

    Awesome looking truck.

Did you have to buy the piece that covers where the TSS sensor goes for that TRD grill?

I almost pulled the trigger on the 18+ platinum grill but held off for now.

Yes, I did. Just bought the cheap cover off Amazon and it looks great. I don’t have the sensor so the cover doesn’t have to be OEM. This is what I bought:

there’s plastic welds on the back of the panel. Seen some people using a dremmel to grind the “buttons” down, after you do all of these the panel just pops off. I just used a sharp chisel and hammer to knock them off. To put them back on just put it on and use some epoxy to redo the “buttons” D3B8890B-748A-46A2-9268-8E0404666F83.jpg

I just picked up a pair of these. Arrived today. Would you do me a favor and post a close up photo of what you have the bottom hooks connecting to? Mine don’t seem to be stretchy enough to reach anywhere useful to hook it onto.

Also, is that metal hook in the top corner something you added? Mine only came with the black one in the middle.
