I had an issue with 18" after market wheels which was resolved solely by using extended thread lugnuts, the OEM lugnuts were not long enough for the thicker wheel and they would vibrate at 55-60 no matter how many times balanced or using different places to balance them. Not all Discount Tires have a road force balance machine by the way.

They have the right machine and right lugs. I'm just done! Went to a local wheel shop and a shop that does lifts/wheels/tires and they couldn't balance them either.

If all else fails you could try this

I have been using it in my harley tires for years now and am very happy! They make it for other applications as well.

I have no affiliation with ride on, just a happy user.

ET lugs are bad. I've seen them break and the collar gets stuck on the lug and then you can't take your wheel off.

The right answer is to only use wheels with the proper hub bore, 110mm. If you absolutely have to, use a hub bore adapter; ie 116 hub bore with an adapter to fit the tundra's 110mm hub

I have balancing beads in my tires and my truck rides very smooth. Do you know how effective these are in balancing you wheels?

So tundras have a 110mm bore and my wheels have a 116.5mm bore. However the Methods are lug centric, can I still use a hub ring to take up that slack?

Use a hub ring that goes from 116.5 to 110..

Wth did you order 116.5 in the first place?

According to Tire Rack that was the proper size. That wheel has a push through center cap so that's the reason for the difference.

My methods are 110. Do you still have the wheels? If you can't exchange them, try the hub rings, it'll probably fix it.

Then have tire rack exchange them because it's their error. Or just do the hub rings. I have the rings on my wife's Infiniti which has 22s; no issues.

You bought the wrong wheel. Exchange it for a Method with a 110mm hub bore or get a 116mm to 110mm adapter.

Just called TR and they said it's the right part number but couldn't confirm the bore size. Said "it's not coming up on my end". Guys also said make sure they torque the wheels when they are in the air.
I'm so mind fucked right now

I'm not sure why you are confused. Call Method Wheels and ask them for the hub bore size for that part number wheel. I googled that part number and Summit Racing lists the hub bore as 116mm.

Bottom line is the hub bore is too big. Either get a different wheel or get an adapter.

Just frustrated but I appreciate all your guys input!
Summit site says 116.5 but 4WD and 4WheelParts say 110.

Called Method and you are right that is a 116.5 bore

In 17s they don't offer a 110mm bore on in 18s and up

Call Method Wheels! Why are you listening to 4WD and 4WheelParts??? they don't know what they are talking about.

Here, I'll help you out since you can't seem to pick up the phone and call Method. This link is the Master Parts List for Method.

Looks like Double Standard is not offered in a 17" with a 110mm bore.

According to the parts list I post, 17" with 110mm bore only models offered are Con6 and Vex

Tire rack screwed up.(assuming that's who you got them from) Make them fix it. You just won't be able to get the wheel in a 17. And I guess you'd have to get different tires as well. Call them, let them know what's going on. See what they have to offer. Seems frustrating after spending all that time and money. Make that a point when talking to them and stay calm. Good luck

It's probably your shop's problem. Either they don't have the right equipment, experienced technician, or technician that don't know how to use the equipment. My Discount Tire was able to balance 40" Mickey Thompson MTZ P3s on my 17" Method Race Wheels Double Standards just fine.

    Yea I'm done
TireRack says according to their system they are the correct size so they won't exchange or return especially since they have been mounted. Discount Tire says they are lug centric so they don't need hub rings but acknowledge the fact in the difference in bore size will create vibrations at highway speeds. I'll update later I just refuse to try and sell these wheels off when I know a lot of guys running the exact same set up with no issues.

Contact method asking them if the wheel will work correctly on your rig. Try to get a response through email and show tire rack IF they respond saying they won't work. Then they sold you the wrong wheel and shouldn't have it advertised to fit. May help.

The problem is, Methods are technically lug centric. But Methods sell wheels with 110mm bore size which I believe basically makes them hub centric also and those don't seem to have any problems with vibrations. What a lot of people don't realize is even if a wheel is lug centric, they can develop a wobble very easily. Hub rings will fix it most of the time. I didn't realize this specific wheel in 17" doesn't have a 110mm bore, so I guess if you can't return it, next step is to try the hub rings. Hopefully that'll fix it.
