I wouldn't order anything from Leo Wilson (eledobleu). He does not stand behind his products/workmanship/warranty. Not sure why this site allows/supports him to advertise/sell anything here. I'm out $600, still under warranty, and not even a response from him.

 

Just placed my order but will still like to see a response to this.

 

How exactly are you out $600. On what product do you have issues with? Morimoto products, retrofits?

I don't offer retrofit services anymore because of people that complained about warranty issues. As I stated in the other thread, I backed all of my warranty work and warrantied alot of retrofits. Because only complained because they had to pay shipping to receive the warranty fix. Warranty fix was free of charge and return shipping was out of my pocket. There were also alot of people that complained that the product was low quality after they sold their retrofit to another customer and the lights got damaged during shipping. Of course they blamed it on the quality of the retrofit instead of improper packaging by the shipper.

 

Leo, check you messages (PM) and email, I've sent you over a dozen with no response. My problem is not shipping costs. You never even offered to fix it. I paid for a retrofit because I was misled in that it would a quality job. Now, I'm getting stopped by troopers, I'm getting middle fingers from other drivers at least once a day, because the driver's projector is angled way too far to the right, beyond LHD specs. And you don't care what my problem is, because you already got paid, and that's all that matters to you.

The lights are LHD so if the cutoff is pointed to the right then it's definitely not blinding oncoming traffic. So state troopers wouldn't bother unless the lights are aimed too high. They more than likely just need to be lowered. Take a picture of the lights on the road so I can see where your lights are going.

If you don't see your cutoff on the road at 100ft then your lights are too high and blinding everyone.

 

It never blinds oncoming traffic, it's always the drivers in the right lane on the highway that get blinded, and they get so angry with me that I don't feel safe driving at night. My lights are lowered well under what they should be now, so much so that they don't cast enough light forward. I own 4 other vehicles with OEM projectors, and not one of them has such a severely skewed LHD driver's projector. This one is so wonky, it's stupid.

 

Which projectors did you get do you remember? Each projector is aimed differently but most are aimed to meet at 100ft. So anything past that distance the right and left projectors will cross paths and produce the light on the opposite side (if that makes sense). Also is your truck lifted or have bigger tires. Tundras are much taller than other trucks stock, not to mention cars. Basically the lower the car is the easier it is to aim the projectors and get more distance. Since Tundras have halogen oem lights, the more powerful projectors needs to be aimed a bit lower than stock.

The pictures will help me see and understand your situation.

 

I second that and only because I experienced it first hand with the conversion harness to install 2018+ LED headlights on the 2014-2017 Tundras. I had documented issues on video & sent them to eledobleu in order to correct the problem. It took me months of correspondence to try and get my issue sorted but they never were. My headlights would flicker & sometimes cut off completely while driving. At first my communication with the seller was good but it slowly got worse to the point where there was no communication at all. I normally wouldn't bother to comment on this but my issue was with a harness that cost less than $200.00 at that point time, this group buy is for a set of headlights that are much more expensive. Buyers & members of the Tundra community need to be aware of the customer service issues before they spend their hard earned money.

Leo, it was the mini D2S. I can send along photos when it's foggy outside, but I've already gone through great lengths doing this with you without any support. The right projector throws a straight beam, and the left project crosses way out past it to the right side. It's very frustrating.

 

People that needed replacement harnesses during the time I was making them received replacements. I stopped making them and took some time off July 2018 after my son passed away so anyone who tried to get in touch with me during that time couldn't.

Headlights are shipped and warrantied by The Retrofit Source. I no longer offer custom harnesses or retrofits. Any products ordered on the website are shipped directly from TRS as I am a dealer for them and Morimoto. I was offering this deal for those were interested in the headlights as no one even TRS will offer this discount.

You don't have to order. This will be the only time I offer this discount on the headlights. It's your choice. You can always order at regular price from Trs or wait until they have a discount more than 10% which usually doesn't happen on the xb headlights, not even on black Friday.

 

Im offering support but I need to see pictures of your light output in order to help you fix your problems I understand what your saying but without those night pictures of your beams it's difficult to offer you support.

I am not trying to start an argument on this thread but to I did not receive my replacement. My previous post was merely to inform the public of a scenario and I will continue to do so with this post. I never received my replacement harness in full I only received half of it. The original harness I purchased was the harness that utilized the Morimoto relay and was one large harness running both headlights, between the time of my original purchase and my issue you had updated the harness to eliminate the Morimoto relay and have two separate harnesses.

I received one harness enough to do one headlight. After I made it aware that I had the first generation harness you acknowledged the mix-up and told me that you no longer made the Morimoto harness and you would send me the other side of the new harness so I could be fully functional again. You told me that the one you sent to complete my set was lost in shipping and I never heard back from you after that despite my attempts to reach out. I only got one side, never the other despite both of my headlights flickering.

I am a business owner myself in the automotive industry and have suffered several hard losses while running a business as well. I sympathize with the loss of your son, I am sure it was very difficult to endure by any measure and not something I fully understand since I have no children. However I never heard back from you when you returned, not even with an update on what the status of my warranty was. Communication & a warranty replacement is all I was asking for so I could be safe on the road. If you were no longer making them an update stating so and a partial refund would have been sufficient for me so I could source the parts elsewhere.

 

My inbox has been full so I apologize if I didn't respond to your message. When I returned I did post in a few threads that I was back and no longer making the harness and referred them to another member here that makes them.

Does the drl light stay bright all the time or dim with the park lights?If so can you make it stay bright all the time?

 

The drl is only in bright mode in 'Auto' on headlight switch when of course it is daylight and the low beams are not on. Parking lights selected and having the low beams on in any mode will dim the drl's

 

I have a 2016 and upgraded to the 2018 led headlights.The way the wiring harness is my drl stays bright all the time.I was just wondering if there was a way to set the xb's drl to permanently bright.

 

Is the warranty only threw The retrofit source or TRS as well.

 

Warranty is directly from Morimoto but claims are processed through The Retrofit Source since they are the only US official supplier.

 

Ok thank you,there Facebook page says the lights are in and will ship this week. Any truth to that?
