    Thanks for reference. Going to try a hair lower. The emercency break re-set also did trick auto adjusting the parking brake. So any others....I think it was 7 clicks down 5 times in a row to reset manual adjuster.

    Bone stock w/ 210k miles
    TSB for the upgrade to 13WL [TSB BR004-02] shows PNs 47710-0C022 and 47720-0C022 for the OE Calipers, which, of course are discontinued. Anybody have alternate OE PNs or suitabe aftermarket calipers?

    I'd prefer OE, the originals (13WE) made it to 210k in 22 years, so they can't be but so bad. I won't put those back on it though.

    I'm open to something else but don't want to piecemeal too much, helps me remember what replacement parts to get... think Johnny Cash's "One Piece at a Time"

    You provided zero details about your truck or situation, so it's really hard to help out here...

    I'm finding a couple of sites showing stock of the part you entered, so it may just be reaching EOL. But the current part number for the 13WL is 47730-0C022 and 47750-0C022. If you want reman units, 47730-0C022-84 and 47750-0C022-84.

    Is the parking brake 100% functional and dialed in correctly? If not, that is 100% your likely issue. It is so well known, there’s an entire sticky thread dedicated to it.

    13WL will bolt right up, mild dust shield trimming needed for the larger calipers. Clears 17” and up wheels, and most 16” factory wheels. There is a TON of info on this site about the 13WL upgrade. Not sure anything will not feel weak trying to stop those 35s though. Gonna have to go with a more aggressive pad, that means a lot more brake dust.

    Parking brake seems to work fine. Are you suggesting PB set too tight is wearing away disks or does it affect actual braking some other way?

    If your brakes were same before and after the work, there's a solid possibility upgrading to 13WL isn't going to fix your issue, caliper is potentially not your problem. (but if you do upgrade, know you need bigger pads, bigger rotors, and you'll need to trim your dust shield)

    If your truck is lifted as it appears in your avatar, and you didn't also raise the height of your prop valve arm, that's problem #1. Page 2, reply #33 of that thread (link) will show you one example of moving (A) prop valve arm relocation bracket and (B) how to adjust the prop valve arm to put more brake bias to the rears. I'm not going to tag him, but one of our members in an earlier year like yours recently did this, and noted marked improvement.

    If making those adjustments doesn't fix your issue, problem #2 is - quite possibly - simply that your rears aren't adjusted properly, specifically auto-adjustment of the shoes for the parking brake arm, there's a very specific spacing that a lot of people have issues with getting correct. The FSM explains this, but it's probably also in that thread.

    But the tl;dr on this topic, many of us have learned together over the years:
    • Good braking on these trucks mandates proper adjustment of the rears, and proper functioning of the arm; when you set your p-brake, it should be locking down the rears and auto-adjusting the arm, to the point you shouldn't be able to give gas and move the truck forward when set
    • If you've lifted, and you did nothing to correct the LSPV (load sensing prop valve) armature/position, your braking will be shittier.

    Thanks Shifty, assuming common knowledge can backfire, this is a thread about 13WL upgrade, so...my bad. I should have given more detail.

    I'm doing the 13WL upgrade on my 02 Limited, still has 13WEs and I was having a hard time finding PNs. I spent some time on the phone with John at Olathe and he got me squared away. Those fellas are awesome BTW.

    I'm headed in the right direction now, trying to mentally prepare for front caliper upgrade & new brakes all-round, front wheel bearings, front upper/lower ball joints, L/R exhaust manifolds. My garage looks like a Toyota parts warehouse!

    The tribal knowledge here is invaluable. I genually appreciate you.
